Beamer is gone if this year goes poorly. Book it.

Too many unknowns and injuries
Possible but I think this year we make a run. Not sure if it's natty or bust but I'd say anything short of final 4 (maybe a close loss in the final 8) would be a disappointment in arch last season

Congrats? I mean, is that Alabama's new goal now? I remember when it was to win championships. now it is to beat Georgia. The decline really has arrived.

ETA
With 4 loses the last two years you honestly believe Alabama is trending upwards?

They're not even aware of how bad they sound when they come up with that stuff.

We really aren't restless its just a few posters on here. We are frustrated at some of his inconsistency and lack of adjustments for sure but he wouldnjave to regress a few years to be on the hot seat

I think they've been at the top of the heap for so long that they subconsciously just believe they still are.

They used to constantly blast BK, which is fine, but DeBoer has been about the same caliber.

Same record through the first 2 seasons, DeBoer does have a playoff win but he also took over a final 4 team where BK took over a sub .500 team.

Alabama held some kind of psychological voodoo against Georgia for so long. (Saban, I guess) That mystique seems to be gone now. Maybe they will strike gold and find another Bear/Saban type coach, but it won't be as easy as they think.

Texas has talent everywhere. If they don’t make the playoffs again, with all that bought talent, there are coaching issues that have to be addressed.

We may make the playoffs but aren't going to do anything once there. We have coaching issues at the top spot and no amount of bought players will fix that issue between sark's ears.

Alabama had to replace the best college coach in history. And following that is hard. 2023 Nick Saban couldn’t match 2011-2020 Nick Saban. Why would anyone expect someone else to be able to match that? We will likely never see it again anywhere.

Georgia has their best coach in history. Alabama has at best their 6th best. So yeah, I would say beating Georgia is a pretty good goal. If we consistently beat Georgia, like during the Saban years, Alabama will be ok.

I’d take off A&M and add Auburn and Texas.

It’s definitely a big season for eLko in year 3 with Marcel returning for his third year starting.

I think adding Texas is a no braininer with the amount invested in that roster.

I don't know. I guess you would have to ask other Alabama fans. When Alabama hired DeBoer, Alabama fans were in here celebrating like LSU fans after they hired Kiffin. We were told Alabama would not miss a beat. We were also told that it was Alabama, and they would continue winning because...well they are Alabama.

And yet even while beating Georgia, Georgia has won 3 of the last 4 SEC Championships, and since Alabama's last National Championship Georgia has won two.

So, my question is this. Is Alabama being ok, good enough? Yes, we do have our best coach in history, just like Alabama had their best coach in history in Nick Saban. But Georgia fans are not predicting that we will not miss a beat once our coach retires. Alabama fans were doing exactly that.

Honestly? I think Alabama fans were some of the better posters on the board considering the successful run they've been on. Since Saban retired? Not so much. Many of your fan base are not taking this well at all.

Missouri is in a slow declined in football. I am picking Missouri football team to go 5-7 or 6-6 this coming season.

If they do, Drink is gone, and Blake Baker will be #1 candidate for the job.

I agree. Arch wasn't ready last year, and the Oline lacked experience. Both will be improved this upcoming season. I don't shite all over Sark like a few Texas posters here do. But if he doesn't at least get Texas to the NC game this year, injuries aside, I'll doubt he ever will.

He won’t. It’s best to just accept it now.

He’s the same head coach he was at Washington and USC. He just has better players here. A few years breathing saban’s air didn’t automatically turn him into a championship level coach.
