Not impressive at all. Even Orgeron won with that kind of talent. That means any coach could. Not impressive

So its not impressive unless you do it without any NFL talent? Thats what youre saying? You can even Oregon did it all you want, that year he was a great coach and looked like he would continue to have LSU in a good position for years to come.

I’m saying a moron could win with that. A moron did
Posted on 1/20/26 at 12:50 am to ColoradoAg
And Orgeron couldn’t even win decently without Burrow. You need more than talent. Something LSU should be keenly aware of

These comparisons are so stupid, even 2020 Bama would destroy this Indiana team
Posted on 1/20/26 at 12:51 am to ColoradoAg
So that must make it that much more impressive that with a moron at head coach LSU beat 7 top 10 teams, the entire preseason top 4, won numerous awards, beat an undefeated Clemson team on a 29 game win streak, never trailed in the 4th quarter let alone let the other team have the ball with a chance to take the lead in the fourth quarter, beat Bama at Bama, put up 37, 42 and 42 against the #1 #3 and #7 defenses. Because surely a moron would mess that up right?

We were 9-4 in 2017. Seems pretty decent to me. If you want to come after Orgeron post divorce fine but he was pretty good beforehand. Lsu did have more than talent...they had the best assistant coaches in CFB. You want to talk about needing more than talent? Texas and Texas A&M are the poster children for that.

Miami will end up having more players drafted than Indiana this coming April.

What an idiot!!!!! That's exactly one of the reasons why LSU is the better team, what a MORON you are

There's no comparison between the two. LSU was lightyears better than IU; Joey B would've put up 50 against that slow unathletic defense.

2019 LSU was just stacked. Expected to win with that much talent. No coaching for sure -ColoradoAg
Well which one is it agtard??

IU's story, turnaround,
There is no doubt that Indiana's story and turnaround is impressive and the stuff made for movies. This has nothing to do with how good the respective teams are, though.

domination with the teams they beat
Indiana played 6 games against ranked opponents and won those games by an average margin of 15.3 points.
2019 LSU played 6 games against ranked opponents and won those games by an average margin of 16.8 points.

It was a fantastic run for Indiana 16-0
If LSU wins another natty it won't be 16-0
It will be hard for anyone to top that record in this day and age
Will see how the Indiana players fare in the NFL down the road because that LSU team has plenty of skins on the wall already
Will hear from several of those Indiana players at the next level for sure
If I'm an Indiana fan I would tell them to enjoy it because it's very hard to duplicate. Players come and go. With the success other teams will come for your staff although it's nice that Indiana will retain both coordinators for continuity. LSU didn't have that luxury after 2019 run.
LSU has already gone through two coaches trying to get anywhere close to what it was like in 2019
Indiana deserves to brag about this team especially with the way they performed on the big stage these last three weeks
What they accomplished is hard to do.
You have to stay healthy, for the most part they did.
You have to get lucky, the Penn St games comes to mind.
About the only thing they didn't do was challenge themselves in non conference play early in season and they avoided some tougher Big 10 matchups along the way.

Indiana struggled to beat a weak Miami last night, LSU utterly dominated every team (UGA, OU and Clemson) it played in the playoffs. That LSU team would be probably a -20 against this Indiana team.
Name one CB on this current Indiana team that could have match up with Jefferson and Chase with Marshall.
There were NFL CBs that got roasted consistently by Jefferson in his rookie year after the natty. The only thing that could stop Chase was COVID-19. Alabama at the height of payola got 46 dropped on them in their house. 2019 LSU Tigers are just in a different league.
Congrats on a super fine win Indiana, you earned, celebrate it, but just stop...

All that talent and couldn’t win anything without Burrow. You sound like Texas fans these days. They don’t win shite either

The comparisons are funny. It doesn't matter. The games cant be played !
Having said that, Indiana wipes the floor with 2019 LSU.
That was fun !
