I know the math and the odds make sense, it SHOULD be the easiest path. But it’s just my nature not to want that overall #1, and yes two years ago still bothers me lol It’s not me being a revisionist, I was uncomfortable with it then even though they did earn it. When you haven’t been there before there’s just a certain pressure carried with it that I don’t like. I’m sure both of us can agree those F4 runs as 4 and 5 seeds were fun as shite, not expecting it. Overall 1 seeds it’s expected, and that’s harder
Newsflash, my guy, the dance is a crapshoot.

Duh. Oh well, I tried. Back to flaming. That’s why there’s no point in trying to actually post around here

As if “being the number one seed is not something you want” isn’t a flame lol.

Wait, what? That’s not a flame, that’s indicative of either superstition or the added pressure actually has a negative impact on playing performance.

I’ll gladly take being the top seed.
OF COURSE you pick the field against them. That’s expected.

Saying that having the overall #1 seed doesn’t bring added pressure to a “new” good program like Auburn isn’t a flame my dude. That’s pressure that your program has never experienced before.
It’s not like Bruce has an outstanding track record being a high seed. He does better as a lower seed, that again is a fact, not a flame. I admitted the same about Bama
Your retort about the tourney being a crapshoot proves my point about it. Idk why your brethren are bemoaning about Duke getting it. Let them have it and let the chips fall where they may.

Don't draw Yale rd 1.
It's 'ship or bust.
Why would you put this pressure on your mind for your team?

I don’t disagree, but definitely could see where people might think being one of the other 1 seeds may be more advantageous. Don’t think he was flaming at all.

Well, yeah, this isn’t debatable at all.

Being afraid of being the favorite is limp wristed paranoid bullshite. If Duke gets it, it does not matter. Our odds do not change,

If Duke gets #1 overall are they choosing Atlanta? I know Alabama and Auburn will

Yea because I’m “afraid” as a bystander fan affects the teams result on the court.
Here’s the facts
No. 1 overall seed UCONN won it last year, historically good team, before them it was Louisville in 2013. So the past 11 years, only two overall #1s have won it. Only 5 No. 1 overall seeds even reached the Final Four since 2013.
Have at it, it’s all yours

I will.
Again. The tournament with its one off matchups are a roll of the dice at all times. It does not matter if you’re “better” all it takes is one bad roll of a game.
Our odds literally do not change.

Bump.
14 quad wins including a win over #2. Is that historic? Is that strong?

Remember the time when AU had the best team to ever touch an orange round ball? I remember

Bump.
Turns out KenPom knows what they are doing.
Going back to 2002, only 9 teams have managed a KenPom rating of 34.2 or higher, and all 9 have now made the Final Four.
Unfortunately for the four who did it this season, they’re sharing a Final Four with 3 other teams who are among the best individual teams in NCAA Basketball’s modern era.

Because of the changes in the game I'm not entirely sure you can compare across different years with KenPom the way you might could have 4-5 years ago.
For example, 2025 Tennessee (#5, +30.85) and Alabama (#6, 30.29) would have been ranked the following in past years on KenPom
2002 : #2/3
2003 : #1/1
2004 : #2/2
2005 : #3/3
2006 : #1/1
2007 : #2/3
2008 : #3/4
2009 : #2/2
2010 : #3/3
2011 : #2/2
2012 : #2/3
2013 : #3/3
2014 : #2/3
2015 : #5/6
2016 : #2/2
2017 : #2/2
2018 : #2/2
2019 : #3/5
2020 : #2/2
2021 : #3/3
2022 : #2/2
2023 : #1/1
2024 : #3/4
Alabama and Tennessee were both really good teams but they were not "top 2-3 teams in any other year" level good.

Im confused are you bragging about being 4th place in 2025? Lol.......Congrats on winning fourth place in a stat no ones ever heard of.
Auburn fans sure are desparate for attention. You dont see Florida fabs acting like them. Of course they been there before

Am I missing something? Based on the stats you posted, they'd be top 3 in 80%+ seasons since 2002
