Texas has the best overall athletic dept in the SEC, hands down. UF is now a distant second when they used to dominate overall. Congrats to the horns for being the best in the nation this year.

That's simply not true. Florida had far more teams ranked in the top twenty five (17 to 8) over the past 12 months. But Texas had more national champions, and therefore piled up more points.

Football, baseball, softball, rowing, men's golf, men's S&D, men's tennis, women's tennis. None of your track and field or XC teams made it. That hurts. I missed volleyball, so that's 10. Regular and beach. You don't have gymnastics. Soccer missed.

mens/womens basketball, women s&d, women's golf were all top 25 finishers not on that list.
apparently our men t&f finished 24 in indoor, but yeah that program has fallen off a cliff and needs a new coach.
soccer hired the UCLA coach and should be much better going forward.

Having more teams helps, so here's the number of teams the top 5 have:
1. Texas – 1,322.00 points (21 teams)
2. Stanford – 1,263.50 points (36 teams)
3. UCLA – 1,199.25 points (25 teams)
4. North Carolina – 1,166.75 points (28 teams)
5. Virginia – 1,148.75 points (27 teams)

Texas had 7 team's finish Top 2, 11 teams finish Top 5, 15 teams finish Top 10, and 20 of the 21 Sports finished Top 25 (Men's outdoor track finished #26)

I didn't realize how well rounded the Florida athletic programs have been. You actually have more top 10 finishes than we do. (31 to 26)
People like to complain about the Olympic sports, but I don't see them complaining when the summer Olympics are dominated by these schools.

Florida, like Texas has always had a well rounded, strong athletic program. LSU is usually near the top, too. It looks like LSU has dropped off a bit lately, though.
