another walk comes home to score against Carolina this season - shocker

which its not like we lead the league in walks, but they sure do come back to bite us at a high rate

if we could get back to hitting some bombs that would be great, but all of our big hitters have just decided to stop hitting HR's.

he was also coming back from an injury was he not?

Yeah, he was shut down the second half of last season. He had a stress fracture in his back like Josh Smith had in 2018

It's been all mental with him this year. You can see the stuff is there, he just needs to get out of his head, which he's done a great job of the past month or so for the most part. The 5 innings he threw last Thursday were great for him

We could be up 8 runs and I would still be nervous. Our bullpen is tremendous at giving runs to our opponents.

Need Thatcher to go 7 IP

I mean, currently he has a perfect game going. As in no hits or walks.

it's quite a phenomenon at this point

Casas & LeCroy have to get back to protecting Petry. Casas stopped at least walking and LeCroy's hammy took him out.

after the 12 hits 9 runs yesterday - I was fully prepared to see us struggle at the plate today - so far they have. they have yet to capitalize on the small amount of good fortune they've had since the week off.

and now Messina departs -

Messina took one yesterday too against Georgia - play stopped for a moment but he stayed in - I though it was a pretty good shot at the time and surprised he wasn't eval'd by trainers then.

that was ball 3 - Tommy Moody is never wrong in the radio booth -

"all they gotta do is look at the tape"
