Georgia’s defense will be great ... IF the offense can give them rest. Otherwise, they’ll be great til near midway through the 3rd quarter.

Explain 2019 then.

I’m not talking about the Tennessee game, for starters, but I also think your offense takes a couple steps back from what it was last year... which is not good.

I’m not knocking Georgia, just being realistic.

Edit - Let me note that folks could be way wrong about the offense if Luke can get that Oline gelling well, which he very well may.

UGA scored 23 ppg against SEC competition on 2019.

You expect UGA to take a step back in 2020 from 23 ppg?

UGA ranked 7th in the conference for scoring in 2019 (conference games only).
You expect UGA to be worse than 7th in conference?

I do, actually. I expect a bunch of low scoring Georgia games this year, aside from when you play the vaunted defenses of Mizz, Vandy, and Ark.

Do you want a sig bet whether UGA scores more or less than 23.6 ppg before the playoffs?

It’s gonna be hard to take steps back from an O as mediocre as our 2019 o was.

VOLS dark horse contenders

I think that is legit. Tennessee caught hell...and rightfully so....losing to GSU....but their late season run was impressive. That team could have easily quit and did not....speaks volumes about character and competitiveness and anyone who discounts that could well find themselves embarrassed by the Vols this year. They would be dark horses but darker horses have won in the past....

UGA doesn't need to go backward from last year to be really mediocre to bad offensively. I am a Dawg fan but I am also realistic....I think it is entirely safe to assume that UGA will not be substantially better offensively this year than we were last year. Less depth along the line, an unknown at QB at best, and running backs that have not proven (to be fair have not had the carries to prove) as good as their predecessors from last year. The one area it looks like we are improved at for certain is catching the ball and running routes. That will help matters certainly but unless we are going to play Big 12 ball, unlikely, we will need to run the ball and control the line of scrimmage to some degree to be as good or better offensively as we were last season. As of now that is not a proven like it has been the last couple of seasons.
