None of us really expected anything different to happen. It's kind of a South Carolina tradition

Gene Cone on struggles in Hoover "I wouldn't blame it on the park or the location. We're just playing good SEC teams."

I really like Gene Cone. Great player.

Why is Hoover so bad to you all? Does your coach get cute with his rotations? Does the stench of 'Bama get to the players? The players not wanting to be in 'Bama for a day longer than necessary? All of the above?

so is South Carolina out of the National Seed picture?

I have a hard time beleiving Ole Miss, Vandy or LSU making the final don't have a better case for a National Seed. I actually think if anybody from that trio wins it they have a better case than anyone not named MSU o A&M, and shoud get one even if the SEC only gets 3 National Seeds.

USC falls to #8 RPI, still above MSU.

One of those 3 teams will have to win it to get it. If not, I think it'll go to an ACC team.

South Carolina has a slim chance at this point, depending of course on what others do.

Good game SC. This tournament is pointless anyway, enjoy your rest.

Mississippi St. should be a national and not need to worry though.

Been a long time since the SEC champ wasn't a national seed

It's going to be dependent on what mood the committee is in really. What would be right is 4 to 5 National Seeds from the SEC. When your conference, at a point this late in the season, owns 7 of the top 9 rpi spots, that should be rewarded. What actually happens though...who knows?

That's a pretty crazy stat, especially since everyone would love being the owner of it

MSU and A&M had it locked up before the tourney even began. Even going winless in Hoover, that of course is not the case.

Florida is not in the same boat. LSU specially is a threat to them because of the one on one matchups late in the season if it comes to just 3 SEC teams getting the nod.

florida is a lock for a national seed. they can go 2 and q and it wont matter. SC going 2 and q helps us tremendously with a national seed

so since south carolina 2 and Q'd, does that mean the likes of LSU and ole miss have a better shot at being a national seed if they make the final or win the tournament?

LSU yes. I think Ole Miss has a large uphill battle since MSU is already a lock for a national seed.
