You sound like the ACC talking football.

I love how you refer to the ACC "talking football" as if it's some singular being that can have opinions on things.

96 Kentucky was the best team I've ever seen. I think they'd easily beat this UK team.

I say yes, without a doubt. The game is more competitive than ever, and no one is remotely close to them.
I would hope this is just a joke to be honest. While good, this UK team doesnt belong in any type of discussion for best team ever.

Well he wrote "all" and you posted a pic of one trophy (ceremony).
I assume that is his point.

Why? Because they've had a couple of sluggish conference games?
The numbers sure back them up as arguably the best defensive force in CBB history at this point.
It is way too early to say they are the best team ever, but I also think it is way to early to just scoff at the idea.
The UK 96 team is still the all-time best, but if they end up undefeated it is hard to make an argument against them.

1990 UNLV and 1996 UK would beat this team pretty handily, IMO. And the sport is not as competitive as ever. 15-20 years ago, 80-75 scores were common. Now, 55-50 scores are more common. The one and done rule has ruined college basketball; teams can't grow into powerhouses anymore. They basically have a one year window before the best players are gone and the roster needs a rebuild. This year's UK team is the exception to that rule.

They're terrific defensively but pretty mediocre offensively. They're the cream of the conference but that hardly matters in best all time discussion.
Not at all. The season is over half over. i've seen plenty. This team is nowhere in the discussion for best team ever.

Based on their offense has some off nights?
CBB has changed. This team would put up great numbers in the 80's and 90's.
Vandy for example last night rarely ever took a shot with more than 5 seconds left on the shot clock.

Two seasons ago, pace of play was the slowest it had ever been, with just 65.9 possessions per 40 minutes, according to KenPom.com. Scoring was the lowest it had been in more than 60 years, with teams each scoring an average of 67.5 points per game.

"I think in some ways, coaches are very crafty in terms of taking advantage of how much contact is allowed," Pomeroy said. "If officials are going to allow more contact over time, that's an advantage for the defense. All those things kind of come together to create this situation." Pomeroy said there's also more incentive to play zone or a pack-line defense, at least with the rules the way they are. Those types of defenses typically lengthen possessions, which slows down the game and limits scoring opportunities. At the same time, teams are forgoing offensive rebounds to get back in transition. The days of running and gunning are a quaint memory. "Zone defenses are more popular than they were two seasons ago," Pomeroy said. "There are lot more three-pointers being shot this year than last year, for instance. … Whether it's zone or pack-line, that's the trend."

based on watching basketball. I dont know anyone who with a straight face thinks this UK team has a chance to be the best ever. That's almost comical honestly.

I watch a shite ton of basketball. You still haven't explained anything past your shitty eye test.
You know how hard it is to defend possession after possession for 35 seconds and put up the numbers they are putting up? What they have done to teams like Kansas, UCLA, and Louisville defensively?

You're right. There are no powerhouses anymore. The great equalizer. That's why UGA has come to be such a force in CBB.
