Maybe you see it that way but I see the past decade as the ACC moving into #2 spot behind the SEC and while not adds about 5 years ago knocked out of the park it will happen when the Irish go "all in" in the next round of contracts.
They would die in the B1G

They have no fit with the B12
They would view the SEC as beneath them
That just leaves the ACC as a landing spot and there are enough private schools and long time rivals to make the Irish feel good about it as their older donors die off.
