BP isn’t going to be permanent coach either way. His hiring was to babysit Sam if/when he gets fired and then be interim. Then a new coach will be brought in.

Easy. “Bobby, you fricked up, you’re working the next year for free or else you’re fired.”

That would have been a three or four million dollar “fine.” It would have been hard to say we went easy on him.

As someone pointed out yesterday, if this was an Economics professor his career would be over. Forget going back to work at the same place. I dont get it. What makes him worth the humiliation?

He was fired for cause. Any university would have had all the reason in the world to fire him. However how many Athletic directors really would have fired him when they were enjoying success? I’m gonna say not many in this league. Most would have covered it up. And honestly if you think scandals have not been covered up then you’re not to bright. What it boils down to is Jeff long personally did not like Petrino. It was a gift on a silver platter. Fire him with cause and no buyout required. Jeff Long really loved moral high ground? He was fired for covering up Les Miles past scandals before Miles went to Kansas. The same AD that hired snoop dog to rap about “bitches” and have strippers dance on poles durning midnight madness in front of children. Stop worrying about Arkansas and enjoy the little success your Harry Potter looking coach has had before the enviable movement that will come to shite can him.

In spite of blatantly breaking state laws to hire his side piece? Ok

You guys still can’t seem to grasp why Bobby P was really fired 12 years later. Once that came to light, nothing could have saved him. And keeping that under wraps after what all went down would have been extremely difficult.

This is the only reason they kept Pittman around. Petrino is already the HC for all effective reasons but these pieces of shite don't want to deal with the negative PR so Pittman will serve as the front man and will be out of a job by week 5 of 2024. They will publicly install Petrino as HC under the guise of an interim HC and then eventually they will announce he is the permanent HC

If I were Pittman I would have raised holy heck about hiring Petrino. I would have told them no way and if they insisted on hiring Petrino they would have to fire me. Then I would take my buyout and go home. The most unreal part is that Pittman went along with this.
