Which is better?

Also Bama 2011 Offense vs Bama 2012 Offense which is better?

IMO LSU 2011 Defense is better than ND 2012.

Bama 2012 Offense is better than the 2011.

So why is everybody giving ND so much credit and thinking this game is going to be close?

ND has had a lot of close games against bad opponents.

ND>PITT 29-26 OT PITT 6-7
ND>BYU 17-14 BYU 8-5
ND>UM 13-6 UM 8-5
ND>PURDUE 20-17 PURDUE 6-7
ND>USC 22-13 USC 7-6
ND>BC 21-6 BC 2-10

Thinking this game will be close is completely reasonable. ND is undefeated and Bama lost to A&M and almost lost to UGA and LSU.

UGA, LSU, and A&M are 3 of the best teams in the country. ND barely beat Pitt.

ND offense is at least equal to lsu, and our defense isn't near as good as last years (though arguably still the best in the country)

All 11 starters from LSU's 2011 defense will be on an NFL roster next year. That should answer your question.

ND's Defense isn't in the same league as Bama & LSU's last year. Probably not this year.

Definitely. ND hasn't played an O remotely comparable to 2011 Oregon and WVU.

Someone said it before but Notre Dame reminds me of 2010 Auburn. They will get lucky and find a way to win no matter what. They just won't lose.

It's LSU but no way is Bama's defense this year better than last year. Just no.

Bama's o this year is better than last.

So if 2011 Bama offense can put up 21 on 2011 LSU's defense then how much does ND have to score to beat a Bama team that the offense is better than 2011?

I agree. The SEC is easily the best conference but the bowls have shown there isn't a big separation between out top 6 teams and the rest of CFB. I think UA has too many horses though and if ND has a bunch of 3&outs, they will wear down.

LSU 2011 and it's not close.

Bama's offense is better this year than last year.

I think Bama fans are in for a rude awakening tomorrow night. Bama will win, but it's going to be a fight.

That's really not saying much about your offense, to be honest

Our offense was so awful that it forced our very good defense out drive after drive until they started to just get worn the frick out from being on the field and never catching a break(see the UF game this year).

It's almost unfair to our defense

Bama and LSU's defense were among the best in college football history last year. This year's Bama offense is the best in school history, based on points scored.

Also Auburn in 2010 did't struggle to beat a bunch of bad teams. They struggled to beat very good teams (except for the Kentucky game???).

This comparison doesn't work because last year's Alabama team was a legendary defense with a good offense. The difference between last year's defense and this one is wider than the defense between last year's offense and this one...hence you can't assume this year's team would do anything that last year's team did.

But in answer to the question - LSU's defense last year was incredible, and is in a completely different conversation from this Notre Dame defense.
