There have been some great ups and downs over the years for sure.

This Iron Bowl, and the ones immediately preceding and following it, pretty much sum up the rivalry perfectly. Alabama won in ‘09 with a second half comeback on the way to a national championship. Auburn won in ‘10 with a second half comeback on the way to a national championship. And Alabama completely destroyed a hapless Auburn team in ‘11 on the way to a national championship. Which is the only game of the three that gets much discussion anymore? The Auburn win in ‘10. Alabama fans get most of the wins in the series but no one thinks much about them after they’re done. When Auburn wins, it typically gets talked about for years and years afterwards.

Eh...2010 sucked but I would put the Kick 6 and Ed Scissum fumble ahead of it on the pain scale

I was at that game!

Not saying you weren’t but it seems like about 250k folks claim to have been at that game and about a million claimed to had been in Legion Field for the Van Tiffin kick.

A student journalist at the time, I was sitting in the front row of the press box right next to the side window into AU coaches box. When Cam plowed into the end zone on a QB keeper to narrow Bama’s lead in the second half, the assistant coaches, Curtis Luper in particular, exploded into cheers, ruffling the blinds. Pretty sure they knew Cam and Auburn were going to pull off the comeback at that point.

I almost went to that game. Had a ticket. Meeting up with some buddies, etc. The morning of the game my pregnant wife got sick and I wasnt going to leave her so I gave the ticket away. Great move.
