Poor Prothro...watching that play turned my spit warm. Heard he's had almost a dozen surgeries since

If Shula attempts the FG, Prothro goes on to have a successful NFL career, odd how life works out.

I remember I was watching with a group of friends and one of them was in the bathroom when the play happened.

Most of us recognized how serious the injury was right away. My buddy that was in the bathroom saw Prothro on the stretcher and said "it's not that bad, look at his face"

CBS then showed in slow motion Prothro's leg snap.

To add to this anecdote everyone thought it was hilarious that after showing the slow motion replay CBS couldn't find a shot of the crowd in Tuscaloosa that didn't have middle fingers displayed so they cut to the broadcast booth

Fans have a nasty habit of doing that at football games.

I was there.
It sucked for me.
I didn't cheer when Prothro got hurt.

I was there too. My 9 yr old son yelled his first cuss word (first I heard anyway) at the Florida section next to ours when his favorite player (Prothro) got hurt. He's now a soph at Bama.

fricking shocking. It's truly hard to believe one of the classiest fan bases in history would ever do something like that. That's right, deep down inside I have a love for UF that I try to hide. I'm afraid if I make my love for UF known they may not accept my fanhood into thier exclusive club of saintlike followers. Which is why I try so hard to hate them on the SEC Rant and hide behind this facade of being a vol fan. If only I could be loved by UF, my life would become whole for the first time. Please Gators......please accept my love and passion for all things University of Florida as my promise to be a respectable member of your fanbase if you accept me for who I am. A lost soul trying to get off this raft of loneliness floating on a sea of creamsicle orange and searching with every ounce of my being for that bright shining beacon of Gator fandom to come rescue me from myself. Thank you.

Respectfully yours,

Vols&Shaft

Because everything you read on the Internet is true

Do you really think anybody would cheer at that? Seriously?

Also, you were at the game in The Swamp vs Tennessee this year. IIRC, the Tennessee section booed very loudly when Brandon Powell got hurt for Florida with about 5 minutes left. I think you could even hear it on the tv broadcast. But continue to spew your nonsense like you tend to do all the time on this board, bro.

I was at Talladega that weekend and watched it with some Bama fans outside their RV... shite you not , before Prothro got hurt one of them said "Why the hell are you going for it on 4th down up 4 scores? Someone might get injured !" Seconds later it happened.

That play makes me sick. Mike Shula should be sending Prothro a check every year.

Was there as well. Remember seeing Prothro take a helmet to that shin on an earlier punt return. Hated to see that happen to him and what he went through trying to make it back. Victory just wasn't worth the price that day. Reminds me of Marvin Constant.

I was there and they did. But, I don't think you guys are the worse fans out there. That award goes to LSU fans. Runner up goes to South Carolina. I don't even know where I'd put the UF fans. I've never had a bad experience in the swamp although I've only been there 4 or 5 times. So, I'd probably put you guys somewhere in the top 3 or 4. And a couple of your female fans in my top 2 or 3 of all time (a story for another day).

Just out of curiosity, did Bama win those games?
