Also, do any fans remember the billboard LSU fans were putting up in regards to the USC "threepeat"?

The billboard was more of a petty embarrassment

The hate was real. FUSC stickers everywhere. What a time to be alive.

When we played USC in 1978, the big thing was the BEAT USC bumper stickers. Somebody cut off the B and C and stuck them on future governor Dave Treen and Congressman Bob Livingston’s backs. It was hilarious watching the 2 big shots walking around and waving with EAT US on their backs.

That billboard was a massive waste of money for whoever donated.

We've done alright. Unless you are a Bama fan, we have won more nattys than your school since then.

This probably summarizes LSU over the Saban ordeal more than anything else. He could have stayed and built LSU into a Bama style dynasty. But instead they had to watch him lead Bama to NC after NC.

He has himself stated numerous times what changed his career path was the two years with the Dolphins. Not saying he couldn't have built a dynasty at LSU, but he was a different coach after the NFL stint.

I'd imagine receiving an NFL offer was like..THE goal of a lifetime. Until it wasn't.

LSU owes Saban a ton. He resurrected the program. In fact, he probably regrets it all the time.
