Found this randomly on YouTube. 1940 MSU finished 10-0-1 and won the orange bowl.

So you're saying this was more recent than the last Aggie national championship?

That fumble trying to return a punt from the 5 yard line is the most Mississippi State thing ever. Some things never change.

I wonder how many of those players would be overseas over the next 5 years

It is fascinating to see a lot of the concepts in a modern shotgun option on prominent display 80 years ago. Everything old is new again.

MSUs coach Allyn McKeen had a 65-19-3 record while coach at MSU from 1939-1948

Why AD Dudy Noble fired him after one .500 season I don’t know, but it was stupid

Those "baws" were tough as nails back then. No snowflakes talking about mental health.

Prewar footage of MSU and Bama and Aggy is all that is on your little mind.

Rent free, bisch.

Honestly, when I hear the term "prewar," the first thing that pops in my head is Martin guitars and the second is Aggie football.

If you want to see more old footage, the Sugar Bowl YouTube channel has full game highlights going back to the 50s. Interesting stuff
