Then you would know the old dorms like Tut and Paty are the ugly ones

The dorms are built in the same style as the rest of campus.

Still didn't answer my first question. How is town growing too fast?

I agree, but they had a chance to make a statement with new construction and you get prefab Dorms. They think if you put a pillar in front of it makes it classical. Modern Architecture and ego's have taken away the classical look at both AU and AL.

School is growing too fast. It is forcing the Univeristy to build Dorms where it use to be a Green area. If you travel any and go to Schools that maintain their Architectural intergrity (William and Mary, Princeton, Columbia, Annapolis, West Point) you will know what I am talking about.

What are you talking about? The area where dorms are being built were never green space. The new dorms being built are where Rose Towers and parking lots were located.

You should just give up man. Alabama's campus is gorgeous and only getting better every year. It's not growing too fast either. Tuscaloosa is also getting nicer every day.

Speaking of which, I'm pumped to see what the Ferg is going to look like when it's done. It's supposed to be almost as big as Ohio State's when completed.

I'm not sure how many people have been to UF's campus but the quad is awful. It's not even a quad, just the area behind the student center which is already impossibly confusing.

Anyways, that's my two cents about UF's quad.

It would just look ridiculous to have Greek revival dorms, and highly impractical. They look good

Sorry I typed too fast. I am talking about the building in general. I do remember the Campus twenty years ago. I guess I should have known better than to tell someone their wife has gained a lot of weight.

Not just talking about Dorms. The Shelby Centers on both Universities look like something that was force down the schools throats, but were afraid to say no.

How do you not think this looks nice?

It literally has won awards for being such a great design...Any school in the country should be envious of this complex... LINK /

I'm fine if you say you think Alabama's campus is ugly. That's an opinion, but the reasoning behind your opinion has been 99% false. And you have changed what you've said at least two times.

Plus, I don't think we are running out of green space anytime soon, my friend. We acquired Bryce Hospital land a few years back, which is over 150 acres. Thanks for your concern though.

That area in itself will be a quad worthy of this list also. It will be awesome when they incorporate that into the campus.

Nice looking dorms, but does nothing for the campus look. It usually takes away from a University when they build modern buildings amongst 1800 period Halls

Very few of the buildings are from the 1800s since most of the university was burned down during the civil war.

Like I said, put Columns in front and it becomes classical. It looks like every new High School designed in Alabama today.
