You and I are arguing semantics right now (A rose by any other name). Bama reported $104M in direct revenue for football. They had 85 scholarhip athletes, you do the math. Calling their scrapes a stipend or a salary really doesn't change what they are. They are employees of University with partial long term benefits and they are being taken advantage of. The NCAA has brainwashed people like you into believing that they are amateurs. Again, are they getting anything more than what an average student on full scholarship gets ?

Does that include the cars and cash incentives for the recruits to make a "Business Decision"?

I got the same email. It is specifically about the cost involved in running an athletic department.

You sir are a dumb arse. Where did you get your education? Icantread U? The OP clearly says the cost of a Student Athlete. It does not say the cost of running an athletic department. Stop the bullshite. By saying the cost of an athlete, what they are saying is that it cost x amount to feed them, house them, clothes them, ship them to the next gladiator arena. For you along with some in this thread to then equate what it cost to what a scholarship is worth is disingenuous. The majority of this is NORMAL BUSINESS EXPENSES. This is the cost to do business. What they are not showing you is the massive fricking profits they are earning in said business. Sure, it cost money to travel 85 kids, hell maybe $1,000 each for a weekend game BUT the school will make millions for that one frickING game you dumb child. These universities have student athletes running and jumping for them and they want to point out what it cost? Yet, conveniently LEAVE OUT what it's worth? frick you!

Why didn't they just say that they need money to pay Nick Saban's $11 million fricking dollars every year? His one check could pay for all 85 players at the tune of $130k each. You have one man making more money than all 85 cost and you frickers want to say the athletes are well compensated. Ungrateful pricks.

You work in an office, you have a desk, computer, phone, maybe a company car. What are you going to say if your employer told you that you are costing them money??? As if your computer, phone, car is a benefit to you AND NOT THEM??? You're not writing off those cost, they are. You are not reaping the rewards... They are. Whatever it cost, you better believe they are making 10x that amount. Now they want to throw that in your face???

This is nothing but Alabama math and most people who went to ICantRead U fall for this stupid shite, hook, line and sinker. "I need to send mo money because these athletes are using too much tape". Never mind Saban is making more than all of them combined, not even counting his company car, jet, house, food, etc...
