Nah, let's be honest. There are tiers of military schools in this country:

Tier 1:

USMA
USAFA
USNA
USCGA (this one made me throw up a bit)

Tier 2:

VMI
The Citadel

Tier 2A:

Norwich
North Georgia

Tier "I wish I was a real military school":

Texas A & Forfeit and Owes Lots of Money

I know it is fun to pick on them, but I actually see them as Tier 2b at the worst. It may be the uniqueness of my career, but I have served with a lot of Texas A&M officers during my 37 years in uniform. And my best friend (fellow retired COL) is a Former Student of Texas A&M (class of ‘93).

That one was awesome

I will settle for the CUSA championship trophy (if we can take care of a surging NMSU) and a middling bowl game

s Liberty still a truly Christian school?

The question is with the Falwell's running it was it ever a Christian school?

Liberty is a better job than some of the SEC programs. And they pay as well if not better.

I think any SEC program (to include Vanderbilt) could be considered more prestigious than Liberty. We are what we are, a mid-major that is enjoying some unique advantages as a school and program. Some of my fellow LU fans are as delusional as my fellow LSU fans. They want an NY6 bowl as the G5 representative (they really are upset that Tulane is ranked above us). Me? I do not want any of that smoke. Being an SEC and CUSA fan, I know what that caliber of P5 competition looks like. We would get skull drug by 1-16. Heck, I am not sure we are going to beat NMSU in Lynchburg on December 1st for the CUSA championship. They are hitting their stride at the right time.

But I must admit, I would love to play Auburn in a mid-tier bowl game

My apologies.

TAM is one of six senior military colleges along with Norwich, VMI, Va Tech, Citadel and North Georgia.

No hard feelings. Point I was making to him is that you do not have to be 100% military (as Texas A&M was at one point) to be distinctive. And you can have people who fail as Christians and still be a school committed to serving Christ.

Not trying to start anything, but the school is focused on their Christian distinctives.

I am convinced that they offer a sound faith based environment for the students who attend Liberty. I know a few graduates of Liberty who are top notch professionals.
