Why not Who has the best wins? I'd rather see a team with a more impressive win resume than loss resume.

Sorry, Gump.

I never said anything about what the voters are thinking... I said the COMMON denominator.. I'll preface it by saying.. of the teams that actually have a chance to play is: 1 loss

I was trying to simplify things for everyone who wants to scrutinize ALL of the victories from every team.

Losing to ISU is unforgivable for a championship calibre team... I don't think anyone can deny that.

Since the only common denominator is 1 loss...

How many wins does each 1 loss team have? Shouldn't that be a common denominator too?

To completely exclude the wins is the most laughable argument I hear some bammers make. It really screams "our resume sucks!".

No, it should be about wins. So OSU and Bama both have one loss. Bama fans point out OSU lost to ISU away in 2OT and Bama lost to LSU at home in 1OT. They completely disregard the fact that OSU has more quality wins than Bama. A national title should be about wins first, then losses second. But the way Bama talks, their win is so pretty and favorable they actually won.

Sorry, but the focus should be on who has the better wins. Not who has the better loss.

I agree with this.

Not getting to play for your own conference championship would seem to be more unforgiving. But I'm sure you can deny that.

Alabama has only 10 victories over FBS teams

OSU will have 11 if they beat OU

There's another common denominator, 11 wins.

Who were those against?

If three or four teams were undefeated, we would be comparing wins wouldn't we?

You currently reside in Chicago? I am about 2 hours south. Would love to take the train up one afternoon and have lunch.

That would make no sense at all. They would obviously be looking at the losses first.

Too bad Houston couldn't schedule themselves a quality loss to a highly ranked team this season
