Is bama really having this much trouble getting the deal to the Prohm done?

You want to talk about a basketball program dumpster fire?
We wouldn't be able to sell out a home game against the LA Lakers with Prohm as head coach.

I did post in a Bama Basketball thread so...

Why isn't Gruden listed?
He'd be as good of a choice as Prohm.
Actually... just let Nick Saban coach Basketball too. Save some money AND fill up the Coliseum.

Archie Miller would be a home run we should all support. Prohm won't win the press conference, but is a quality candidate. If we hire Pitino the AD should be fired, Pitino's contract should be bought out, and the new AD should pick someone else.

Miller is the only take but he'd be hard to get away from Dayton, imo. But as I've said before money talks.
Not impressed with the others. Hopefully for the SEC, Bammer has someone else in mind. Just as long as he's not too good we'll be alright.

Shaka just came off the board. Texas has closed the deal according to reports.

Richard Patio would be a slam dunk

I like the idea of Avery Johnson.

Shaka was never a realistic get for Bama.

Heard from someone in the know that Avery Johnson wants the job. Just assumed he was an NBA guy but he did well in the NBA and has the kind of personality that would do well in college and recruiting. If true, I say sign him up.

Would give instant credibility to the program and immediately trump in-state recruiting, IMO.

"Why?"
On the surface it sounds weird but the hire would make a splash given how well respected he was as a player and coach in the NBA. Laugh all you want but I think he would recruit well and be a solid college coach.

Lucky just posted:
"Bill Battle is now confident that he has his man in his sight; this is a large target and for a 6 year 2.5 million contract. Bill believes this hire will choke and destroy the competition. Who is this man? No other than Jonathan Taylor."
Can someone confirm?

He's a big risk but I feel like his upside would be huge. He's the kind of guy who could get in any living room in America. NBA star, coached two NBA teams for a decade, grew up in the South, ESPN NBA analyst, etc. We could do a lot worse.
