That kind of circular argument (e.g., if we hadn't made any errors, if we'd hit the ball better, were it not for our runner being thrown out at 2nd, if our coach had pulled our starter earlier, if the ump hadn't sucked, had we been playing at home ....) is pointless.
In the immortal words of Ron Washington: "That's the way baseball go."
