No not really....

However the emergence of PlayStation and Chubby has stolen just a tiny bit of Gurley's thunder according to this writer.

Gurley's the type of dude that would be happy for Sony and Chubb because if they're succeeding the team is succeeding, and they're clearly his friends cause he is one of the first ones to come congratulate them after a TD.

I love the idea of calling Sony "Playstation" from now on

Totally agree. I don't think there is one bit of jealousy. Gurley is still the big dog, the other two are still pups.....pups that have blazing speed and a pretty big bite to boot

The future is so bright....we gotta wear shades.

I also think Gurley sees himself as a mentor for those two. He's figured out how to deal with the pressure of being a RB at Georgia and is trying to help them out. It's not easy for an 18-year old, as we've seen with the many tailbacks who have crashed and burned at UGA over the past 20 or so years.

I thought PS1 would be a good one but people might dog it because it was the old school console....

But it a combination of PlayStation plus his number.....ya'll sit and think on it.

All he's saying is that it COULD hurt his Heisman chances if he's splitting that many carries.

I know man...it was a hook to actually get a couple of responses on the running back dynamic we have been blessed with. No controversy at all.

The Heisman has turned into a completely political and marketing award. You need momentum throughout the year with no very bad games.

If they want to pad the stats some..we end with Charleston Southern and Tech. They will have that chance.

Gurley will win or lose the Heisman in the big national televised games (AU, FL, ...maybe Ark). He could lose it if he has a crap game against some weak opponents (KY, Vandy).

Gurley is going to New York. He is going to run all over UT.

Also, as a side the kid sitting next to me at the FSU game knew Gurley. Or at least said he had been to parties with Gurley before and that I "shouldn't be shocked if he stayed another year. That's the kind of guy he is"

I told him, "yea right... he should go get paid"

And he should.

IMO. Run Gurley in 1st and 2nd Quarter. Spell him during the third. Bring him back in the 4th.

The only thing close to a RB controversy at UGA is the fact that Marshall is not the same player he was before his injury and objectively he never was in the same class as Gurley in terms of ability to break tackles. Our coaches see the obvious which is why Marshall has played so little at RB in spite of being listed as #2 on the roster as Gurley's backup.

I don't think Gurley gives one shite for the Heisman. The priorities are individual performance, team success and preparing for the next level. Awards don't automatically translate into professional success. Jameis Winston won the Heisman and he is sinking on everyone's draft board. Gurley is showing heart, character, desire and great skill. If Todd stays healthy his draft position will be very high. I just hope Mason will be smarter than Murray when it comes to not putting receivers in vulnerable positions on swing passes. The pass to Marshall was a crime.

Exactly, Gurley is a team player. He gives maximum effort on every run, gets gassed and then needs a break. We got us going in the Troy game and we obviously didn't need him for the rest of the game. Good, let him rest and get ready for Tennessee.

Agree on all counts. Gurley is the big and fast NFL class back that pro coaches dream of.

I wouldn't go that far but Murray inadvertently set up Marshall for the kill, no doubt. As a QB you can't just automatically throw the ball in that situation. If the receiver is not in the clear on ANY pass you should either go to another receiver or just get what you can running yourself. This is why I like dual-threat QB's; they always have that alternative as a viable option.

Agree...Mason appears to make his mind up on those swings no matter what the defense is. One thing we haven't seen from Mason (Yet) that took Murray two years is just deciding to throw the ball out of bounds and live to fight another day.

I still like "Hi Def" or Sony HD because it looks like he is running right over you.

Could hurt the heisman or not. Fresh legs instead of 30 carries a game could help too.

Kind of like Ben Affleck's Oscar.
