I see a lot of doubt in you men. Here's some reasons why I believe we win this.

1- Our run game vs their run defense.

We return our complete run game. This run game did well against better run defense.

OSU lost 3 starting DL and 1 starting LB.

2- Our Passing attack vs their Pass defense.

I think we all believe we have the best WR/TE corp that we have ever had. We have the best passer that we have ever had.

OSU Lost 1 DB from a sub par Pass defense.

3- What We know...

OSU allowed Arizona to throw for 320 yards to 7 different people. 3 of them had 6 cathes each. They allowed them to rush for 225.

OSU Allowed Lafayette to hang 266 yards on them. 121 on the ground

OSU allowed over 300 passing yards by Tx and 160 on the ground

OSU allowed 300 in the air and 205 on the ground vs KST.

I could list every team, but Why?

They gave up a lot of yards on the ground and lost 4 in the run defense.

5- They lost their top RB, and they do not appear to be deep their at all.

6- They allowed 48 points in their losses to teams that are not as talented.

THE HUGE ? is will our defense be better and create enough stops to win? I don't see that as a massive must. With our run game, we can limit their offense. I don't see us with less than 225 yards on the ground and 275 in the air.

they have the potential to be the best corps we've ever had, but to call them that at this point is quite a stretch

I also wanted to add this in for you all.

OSU was ranked in 2011 below 100 in defense. Last year 37th. Not sure why we feel MSU can not make this kind of turn around. We are not starting near that low.

I think we win simply because of our OL/DL

I agree... Keep their offense off the field with our run game, and make a few critical stops.

Although the okie lites shouldn't be underestimated, nobody knows who their starting qb is going to be or if they play both. I mean listen to these two guys...

OSU gave up most of their yards (376) to ULL in the 2nd half after leading 44-0 at half time. Let's hope that we don't get a chance to run up a lot of yards in the 2nd half against their scrubs.

Like us, they have a new DC, and the comments from him a very similar to the comments from Collins. They are going to be more aggressive. They are going to attack more. They aren't going to lay 9 and 10 yards off of the receivers on 3rd down. They are going to bring more pressure and make the QB get rid of the ball. Etc.

They have a QB battle, but it is because both of them are good, and both are doing well in practice. One is a bit better passer. One is a dual threat and loves to run when he can. If the passer starts, they will average more than 40 pts and 500 yards per game. If the other guy starts, they will average more than 40 pts and 500 yards per game.

I hope our defense is better because we were just lost against A&M. If we don't play better, we are looking at one of those 700+ yard games. I will not be disappointed if they get torched in game 1. I will be disappointed if they look disorganized.

I am putting this game on the offense. They cannot stumble. The line needs to blow them off of the ball, and we need to put together a lot of long drives. The best defense will be keeping them on the sidelines.

we need this game to go like the UT game last year. control the clock and move the ball down the field with long, time consuming drives.

It's great that you use a game to make a point. I used most of their season with comparable teams to MSU.

I also threw in the fact that they lost every starter at the DE plus their rotation. They are not bama and do not have the recruiting of bama. Their lone returning CB was torched last year.

I would also like to point out they lost to Baylor who ranked 119th in defense.

They lost to Arizona who ranked 118 in defense.

Kansas held them to 20 points... ranked 113th in defense.

They beat the West Virgins.. their defense was ranked 108 WHOOP WHOOP!!

They beat Iowa St.. ranked 94th in defense.

Teams like K St and OU did exactly what we will.. control the clock...

Hopefully there is a massive rain storm inside of the dome in Houston that will help us slow OSU down. It sure helped Kansas.

OSU only had the ball for 23 minutes and change against OU and still ran up 45 pts and 500 yds of offense in regulation time. OSU only had the ball for 22 minutes against KSU and still went for over 500 yards. KSU won the TO battle 5-0 in that game. Hopefully, we can do something similar.
