We're seeing signs Miles and his teams of late have been trending down when it matters most. It has a very OU feel to it...

Can Miles recover from what has been a tough 2 years stretch of disappointments? Will 2 turn to 3, and so on?

Miles hasn't choked enough big games away yet.

Stoops is 7-6 at OU, Miles 5-3 at LSU (6-4 overall) , dropping 3 of last 4 I think. He probably needs to start winning those again, yes.

Someone recently compared the stats. I'd say they are about even now. Not to say its a bad thing. He is a great coach.

1-3 last 4 bowl games

lost a title game against a team that some felt shouldn't have been there

I'd give him one more "big bowl game" mess up before we call him Stoops.

Bowl records are a tricky thing. Bear Bryant was 15-12-2. Saban is 7-4, which is pretty good.

Stoops gets to BCS/post New Year's Bowls and loses them.

Miles is more on Mack's level.

Would you count a regular season loss with Big Bowl implications in that equation?

2007 seems so long ago, I guess.

Doesn't it to you?

I would agree that by their records he's not on the same level as Stoops yet. But in Stoops' defense he was obviously outmanned in some of those games where Miles tends to shoot himself in the foot with coaching decisions.

Is the Chic-fil-a bowl a "big bowl game"?

I don't think he will ever grow to be as good a coach as Stoops.

I suppose it depends how it plays out. If LSU is simply beaten by a better team, that's one thing...
