First Egg Bowl I ever saw in person was when Stewart Patridge threw the go ahead two point conversion to Cory Peterson. Saw it from the second to top row of the home side upper deck.

Oh man I’ve never had so much fun and felt so bad for another team in my life. Wesley Carrol probably has PTSD from that game

My old Call of Duty partner back in the day. Nice guy. Was absolutely abused that day in the egg bowl

I’ve been to three road ones and seen us win every time

2015: Dak poops his pants
2017: Matt Luke wins (still don’t know why I went as I figured we’d lose)
2023: Only interesting thing was State’s interim coach rode an ATV out on the field … then lost

What are the away sections?

From seeing the away crowds this year there the whole east side of the stadium is the visitor section.

I kind of expected them to come out of their shanties for this one.

When we win, it might be better than a home Egg Bowl. When they pocket those cow bells and start filing out, it’s a beautiful thing.

They’re completely worried about us taking over their stadium. The state fans I know irl have completely given up hope on winning and aren’t going to the game. I know they hate us and will want to make sure we don’t take over the stadium but id genuinely be surprised if it’s not at least 60% powder

So the schedule says navy, but now Twitter is saying powder. So which one is it?

Thinking they changed it to Powder being with what is on the line. Powder makes more sense.. All white and red stripe for our uniforms i think.

People are mixed about powder blue becoming more prominent in the uniform selections but it’s a great color for marketing. All of our marketing videos have color that pops and is visually appealing. I think that is one of the big reasons it is hard for State to gain any interaction on social media marketing. Maroon, black, grey and white are just very “meh”

Every time I see a post like this I feel older.

Not my first OM-State College game, but I was in the north stands (OM were visitors) for the Immaculate Deflection game back when we played in Jackson. Crazy game, even before the end. Must confess I never saw the ball actually hit the ground. It was a chip shot and my eyes were following the expected trajectory through the goal posts. Then I saw the ball on the ground and realized we had survived.

Someday I might tell you kids about the time I saw us beat Notre Dame in Jackson, behind the heroics of 3rd string QB Tim Ellis and a Chicago catholic kid named Plasketes who converted from QB to defensive end and registered 15 tackles against the eventual national champions (but none against Joe Montana, who stayed on the bench that game).

Don't Help when Texas A&M and other schools use them same colors.. Powder Blues is unique not many schools the color beside us and Tulane and they don't use it as a main color like us.

Don’t get me wrong I love The Grove and the games being in Oxford. But I’m jealous of some of the stories my dad has told me about going to double headers in Jackson. He said you could go see Mississippi State play Georgia in the early afternoon and then at night go see Ole Miss play LSU.

College football games surely didn’t last 4 hours back then.

Some of my best Grove memories were tailgating Thanksgivings in the Grove.
