Y’all gotta snap out of the doom and gloom.
Yeah, lane is almost certainly leaving us for a rival, but what’s done is done. And guess what, state’s biggest weakness (rush defense) is our biggest strength. Unless you think Lacy is going to trip and fall, we could just run the ball 50 times and get a win.
Against OU and USC, Lacy had more yards than Ahmad Hardy. And Hardy went for 300 yards against MSU.
Lane sucks, but acting like an egg bowl win, 11 win season, and playoff berth are meaningless just because we have to hire a new coach makes 0 sense to me.
The portal doesn’t open until January so there is no reason to expect players to opt out of a playoff run. Don’t think anyone ever has. We are still a team with a chance to beat anyone on the right day.
Aight, I’ll get off the damn soapbox now

Just looked it up: state is giving up 189 rush yards per game!! That is 17th worst in the nation. Even if you take out Hardy’s 300 yards that only moves them up 8 spots just behind Troy and Delaware.
The only teams they have held under 100 yards are Alcorn State, Arizona State, and Texas (lmao). 4 of the last 6 teams they face have rushed for 230+ and 3 have rushed for 299+
For once, CWJ run up the middle every time might just work

That’s what logic would say we should do
CWJ is instead drawing up a 5 wide air raid offense that would give the pirate ( RIP) a Chubb

Some radio guys now trying to say that if we struggle to beat State, which is always a possibility especially now, and wind up 11-1, the committee could very well opt to leave us out of the playoff if we don't have a head coach. What a travesty that would be.

Currently, the cash out option from the bet I placed before the Florida game for us to NOT make the playoffs is currently double what I bet. It was 1/5th of the bet the Monday after that game.

Didn’t you say it was like 20-1 when you bet it? Even doubling to 10-1 means 90+% of making it.
Honestly the real reason odds moved is the lack of upsets last weekend. BYU and Utah had real chances of losing as did OU. If those teams lost our chances at 10-2 go way up but they won. There are a ton of 9-2 teams so our chances of making it at 10-2 absolutely got worse regardless of the Kiffin situation. If we get left out at 11-1 Greg Sankey will burn the playoff down lol.

It really is that simple. Sexton tried to push this media narrative that we would somehow get left out if we lost Kiffin but I don't think that the committee is going to go that direction. I really don't.

Oh yeah, can’t remember if that got posted here but all the stories about “ole Miss might get left out if Lane doesn’t coach the egg bowl/playoffs” were absolutely coming from sexton/CAA

If that happens, we may as well not play the games.

Wonder how many fans we'll have at the game Friday? I just looked at State's ticket website, and there are still tickets available.
EDIT - nevermind, it is sold out.

State's site told me it was sold out earlier today. All the tickets left were secondary market on seatgeek
Yeah, it's still marked as sold out.

No way it will be completely full unless we are the ones that fill it up.

I've heard estimates of 20-25k Ole Miss fans. Of course nobody knows until game day.
Did y'all here about the ticket fairy?
