Bianco has known when to pull and when to ride a pitcher for about a 4 week stretch in his 25 years here. That stretch ended up winning a title. I don’t think he’ll figure it out again though

Preach. It was like he had been touched by the pitching gods for a short time. But then he reverted to mean.

I have more of a problem with his refusal on using NIL to keep guys here. Just imagine if we had even some of the players that left.

honestly that should be a fireable offense. That is now no different than saying he refuses to give out scholarships.

Can you expand on that?

Are you saying we have money available and Bianco refuses to use it or refuses to allow players to participate in NIL deals?

Yeah, I haven't heard anything about Bianco refusing to use NIL funds. I think the problem is he is set in his way and won't change his recruiting approach to take advantage of NIL.

Yeah it’s not really up to him to refuse NIL. He might just not be playing “the game”

Granted that it's just a rumor but I've heard several times that he hates NIL and doesn't really care for the players that are looking for a payday.

Now, I can't say for certain that is true but it does look like he's kind of letting the program recruit itself and isn't as active as he used to be in trying to land some talent.

That sounds very Bianco-ish.

What isn’t bianco-ish at all is our bats seem to be great and our pitching is dogshit. I haven’t been able to watch any games but just going off the box scores.

It's probably the worst pitching staff we've had in Bianco's tenure but yes they can absolutely rake 1-9.

Nichols and Maddox should go back to the pen. Think you go with Hooks and Morris as your starters and take your lumps. Maddox and Nichols aren't gonna get it done anyways.

I have more confidence in Nichols. Maddux is obviously not an SEC starter and may not even be a decent middle reliever.

But I remember Nichols as a freshman. He had an ERA of like 2.85 for the season. And, if I remember correctly, he did not give up a single hit in something like 8.1 innings of post season work, including the CWS final. Not a single hit in over 8 innings.

He can find the magic again.

Nichols can't face an order twice. It's been the same story his entire career.

Just looked at the box score.

Wild pitch and two fielding errors in the same inning. Just awful.

Any ideas of what will happen with the KY series? They've got essentially 100% chance of rain tonight through Sat night with 12-15" of rain possible and flash flood warnings.

No way they play baseball up there. But I can't think of an alternative venue
