Freeze's recruiting was mostly mediocre. He landed a few big fish but torpedoed the depth of the program in the last year or so.
I remember a lot of us complaining (I used to come here and read y’all’s thoughts before I joined) that his classes were big time top heavy. Most of the guys he recruited that weren’t at the very top of the class never got any playing time. He left us with a lot of holes.

I don’t know why we are even wasting time talking about freeze. He will never coach here again and wouldn’t be on the list if the job came open. Let him go run auburn into the tank.

no it does not. they are playing you like a fiddle. Look into who backs DeSantis and why. two sides of the same coin red blue doesn't matter. keep politics out of the thread and I'll do the same

I would take Aranda over Freeze for what it’s worth.

Ehhhh..maybe, but I’d prefer Sonny Dykes but we will end up with Herman, the Kansas State guy or an unknown..but I’d interview Prime for the hell of it

FWIW, Neal with Rebel Grove says Kiffin is Auburn's top choice but as of right now he'd put his money on Lane staying

We would be on a 20+ year losing streak to Bama if it weren’t for Freeze. #WorthIt

has Kiffin ever given a shite about hs recruiting? I know there’s the photo of him watching Judkins (which is absolutely great) but I think he prefers transfers instead. Personally wish we’d focus a little less on transfers and more so on developing hs talent but that’s not my call. Really wish we’d go after dowdell from picayune. He’d be great to have behind Judkins. Also be nice if we’d land Smith out of itawamba, dude has been a stud for a few years and plays both sides of the ball. I got to watch him play in person earlier this year and he absolutely torched my school.

The one thing about the 2016 team. Gates was the only SEC caliber LB on the roster. We could have had Genard Avery, who Wommac wanted really badly, but Freeze passed on him and eventually signed Ray Ray Smith. Then fired Wommac at the end of the year and hired McGriff. He also fired Werner and brought in Longo. I do not dispute that Freeze can coach, but I also know his ego was is way to big

Kiffin like most coaches go get the best available. Based on the NIL arms race the top high school kids are all signing at places like A&M where they can get a fat paycheck. Kiffin is having to win in the portal and find guys the bama’s UGAs A&Ms aren’t all in on. We have NIL money and it’s getting better by the day but it’s not there yet. Go sign up for grove collective if you want Kiffin to do better. To say Kiffin is a lazy recruiter is a very uninformed take.

I think some of our fans like winning recruiting battles more than wins on the field, and I've thought this way since about 2013.
