I mean his shtick was being a family oriented preacher who was also fricking hookers behind his wife’s back. Hard to recover and recruit well in the SEC after that.

We lost 5 of our last 6 SEC games. None of the five teams we lost to finished with more than 8 wins.
Everyone keeps glossing over that whole probation thing that happened after he left, too.

It blows my mind how some of y’all completely ignore the 2016 shitshow. Do y’all not remember blowing 3 score leads to both FSU and Bama? Getting blown out against Vanderbilt? A 55-20 home egg bowl loss? Or the fact that we finished with 4 total fbs wins?
That’s not even taking into account the head scratching play calls against Memphis in 2015, or red zone plays in general throughout his tenure. Or, like TA said, the probation we were put on since he damn near begged for the ncaa to come and investigate.
The Bama wins, the 2013 signing day, and the sugar bowl are great memories. But frick hugh freeze. We need to stop this talk of getting him back. Dude is a slime ball and always has been. If/when Kiffin leaves we will find someone to come in and replace him but that person won’t be freeze.

This is why High Freeze at Auburn doesn't scare me. Will he have short term success? Yes. But I don't see him winning a title. And I certainly don't see any sustained success.
If Kiffin leaves, Freeze should be last on our list. Below disbanding football and just becoming a baseball only school.

In 2016, we gave up 457 rushing yards to a 5-7 State team in the Vaught. We lost by three touchdowns to a 6-6 Vanderbilt team. I don't give a hoot how many injuries we had that season. We had recruited very well for the past 4 years and should've had the depth to replace some players. Hell, we had a five-star QB under center throwing to three future pro bowlers!
What about the other games Freeze laid an egg in? We got absolutely dominated by a 6-6 Arkansas team in 2014. We lost 30-0. We didn't score a point on a .500 football team. We lost a major bowl game by 39 points. There are some substantiated rumors Bo Wallace and other players were partying their asses off the night before the game. They sure played like it.
I think people forget the 2014 Landsharks led the country in scoring defense. What do we have to show for it? A tough win over a good Bama team. That's it. We had the best scoring defense in the country and didn't do jackshit with it.
Don't even get me started on the losses in 2015.
What about the 2016 draft day fiasco? What a bad look for our program on a night where our program had never been as prominent. Remember Tunsil's admission he was paid to play at Ole Miss? Remember the immediate spin from our camp that Tunsil's answer shouldn't matter because he didn't understand the question?

Is he? Aren't we just reliving some of the absolutely mind blowing losses that happened in his tenure? You can't ignore 2016.

By all means we need a coach willing to operate in the Gray as needed. But there's a massive difference between that and the mud Freeze drug us through. And he failed to do in 5 years what Kiffin is on track to do twice in 3 years - win 10 regular season games.
We are willing to pay our HC $7mil plus, that buys us better than Freeze.

2015 team got abused by Memphis and lost to an average Arkansas team.
2014 team put up 7 points against LSU, and got blown out by an average Arkansas team.
Both are more talented than this years team, but I'm not sure they win. Let alone the fact this years team would be a 7-8 win team under Freeze.

You won’t see me argue that freeze is a better coach than Kiffin. If Kiffin was our coach either of those years, we make it to Atlanta easily once, most likely twice
