Our defenses performance this week was pretty embarrassing. That said, it doesn’t come close to a grown man parading as a reporter or journalist to be caught making up quotes, especially when you attach that quote to a kid. Had a buddy just send me a link to this article about Yancy Porter. Ignoring the fact he could cost us a big time recruit, how fricking pathetic is this? Journalism 101, don’t plagiarize, don’t fabricate quotes/stories and don’t reveal sources who you promise anonymity. If this guy had any credibility before, it is now gone.

Yeah really bad look for Porter if true. However, if the recruit ultimately really likes it at OM and wants to go there I don’t think this incident would be nearly enough to keep him away.

i agree. Fully. State isnt just another SEC team. they are our in state rival.
That being said if the sports Gods whisper in my ear.
"End of season results Ole Miss 11-1 loss to Bama, and Bama 10-2 losses to A&M and Miss State" I would take a MSU win over Bama every second of every day. (I know how unlikely those results are. but still)

The Mississippi State hatred thing is more of a Mississippi thing. Outside of the 4 years spent in Oxford for college, I have never lived in Mississippi so my hatred is much more for LSU. If we were allowed 1 rivalry game every year once Oklahoma and Texas come into the SEC I'd much prefer that game be LSU than State.
