This season has been a case study for why Mississippi needs an educational lottery. No matter how good we are at the top we will never have the depth to compete for a national championship if we are operating with multiple fewer scholarships than our rival schools. I have a hard time criticizing our bullpen and Mike’s decisions because those guys are gassed.

So we don't award the same amount of scholarships as others in the SEC outside of State?

We don't have the same amount of financial aid available to prospects as other schools

And then there’s Vandy who can give a scholly to Vanderbilt University and a promise to play on national television to any power pitcher with a decent GPA

I know Georgia, Florida and Louisiana have these "extra' scholarships.

Anyone else?

Out of state students at Arkansas only have to score maybe a 28 to qualify for in state tuition so they have a few more as well.

Does anyone know about A&M, Kentucky, or South Carolina?

The only state that I know is on par with us is Alabama.

There is no reason we shouldn’t have a lottery in MS.

We need to get with the times

Did Stokes come in yesterday? I am sick of seeing him run out there. I am just now fixing to get a chance to watch it. Y’all can look at any of my posts and see I hardly ever put anyone down, but he’s different. I remember him coming through high school and he’s always had this self entitlement mind frame. And just from seeing him now, he looks like he still does. Biggest douche from around here in a while. I’m quite a few years older than him, but I caught a few of the games he played around here, and he cried and whined if he didn’t get his way. Most of his teammates were glad to see him go. He always felt like every little thing should be handed to him. Anyways sorry just had to get that off my chest.

And yea the whole way the scholarship program for baseball sucks. I understand it’s not full contact like football, but look at how often they play a week and the stress it can put on you mentally and physically. It can be just as draining as most sports and then fatigue sets in. Then not having quality or quantity to help them out. I’ve always thought they need to go back and see how they can make changes to the process. Hopefully we can keep winning these series and have momentum come tourney time. We have some great guys out there. This team doesn’t have a lot of “give up” type of guys. However this season goes, it’s been one of the more fun teams to watch in a while.

Everybody outside of the starting 8 need arm rest. No bullpen sessions, no long tossing, or situational scrims. Ice and shock therapy for the whole staff

Couldn't agree more. Caracci finally looked good again yesterday coming off of good rest.

If its possible to squeeze it in, an off weekend or week wouldn't be a bad idea to provide each team like they do in football. Basketball gets a little bit of a break over Christmas.

That's right. Maybe they can get two or three days off before preparing for Auburn.

Caracci hit 99 on the radar Saturday. Could have been a fluke but his velocity was higher than in his last few appearances. Bullpen was good outside of Friday.

Yes he also hit 117 too. 99 is more believable but I don’t know.

So what do we need to do to get a national seed? Anyone want to predict our finish?

I say 6 of 9 plus both midweeks

Do we need to win the west or no? Arky being a game ahead might hurt us even with a badass final record

Maybe we need the radar gun to malfunction whenever Caracci pitches. Let the batter think he's throwing 99 every time.
