I know we are all on the Lane Train but I watched the Sam Pittman press conference and it is eerily similar to Matt Luke's introductory press conference. "He loves the school and program so much. That's what we need right now!"

Feel good for the man, but yes, that is an apt comparison..hoping the hired gun approach works better for us

Razorback co-workers were trying hard to sell me on how it was a good hire they made.. Kept hearing "he's got alot of up-side"with no real explanation of what the upside was. "Well he's a good recruiter" ... "well if he just hires some really good coordinators"... I felt like i was talking to some of our delusional fans after Matt Luke was hired.

Mother of God. Words can't describe how happy I am that we don't have to deal with those assholes saying Luke needs more time anymore. Anyone that says Matt Luke needed/deserved more time doesnt know jack shite about football or how a program is run

Has Kiffin met with the team yet? And if so how did that go?

I think he met with them right after the pep rally. I haven't heard how it went.

I don't think that was the real chorus we were hearing. More along the lines of: we needed Luke to get the program into a position where someone like Kiffin would be willing to take the job. And Luke did that.

Here's a fact: if Corral, Plumlee, and Ealey aren't on this team, Kiffin doesn't come here. Luke recruited those guys, and put them on the field. We owe Luke a debt of gratitude. Along with the $12 million.

I think it went well. Waiting for one of the best writers to post about it but based on the number of kids pulling their names from the transfer portal I think it was good. I’m sure they’re excited to play for someone that knows what he’s doing and isn’t learning on the fly.

I finally talked to a buddy from FSU. Don’t let anyone fool you, Kiffin was wanted there. They thought he could help better with recruiting having the experience now down there. It was FSU and Arky.

We came calling and he decided that he believes he could have more success here than the other options after looking at roster and from speaking to other coaches. He also honestly really likes Oxford from coming some here before and spending time. The OM part of this is coming from someone in athletics.

The team is absolutely fired up and wanting to help even more getting kids to campus to play here. This has really put a spark in the team and everyone around it. He said there’s a ton of more smiles now and excitement.

Anyways like I said it just came from a couple people who I would say at least knows that type of stuff, but nothing more in depth. All I know is I’m aboard the Lane Train and ready to freaking go.

Really? A roster w/ Jordan Ta'amu, Matt Corral, Scottie Phillips, AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Demarkus Lodge, Elijah Moore, Octavious Cooley, Dawson Knox, Greg Little, Javon Patterson etc wasn't attractive?

Corral was under Freeze and Plumlee doesn't exactly fit Kiffin's system. I think he transitions to another role or spends his time on the bench at Swayzee instead of Vaught-Hemingway.

My source says it went really well. He had the kids pumped up and ready to go.

This is anecdotal, but the kids seems excited on twitter. It's hard not to be when the fan base is over the moon.

May be Germans. He talked to two players the night of his Landing. If I had to guess, I’d say Matty and either Ealy or Plumee.

I'm pretty sure with Plumlee's speed and play making ability you do what ever you can to get the ball. In my own mind he's more Christian McCaffery than a QB, so yes I would like to see him switch positions as well.

Though to say he'll sit the bench at Swayze ... might be stretching it a bit. If the kid can hit, with that speed he's got to be able to make you consider playing him @ CF.

It's been a long time Whistlin', how you been my friend?

I tell you now that I've been lost in the deep dark wilderness that is lurking for quite sometime, but then I saw a light way off in the distance. Faint and hard to see, but I could tell it was getting closer and closer. As it did that light became brighter and brighter showing me a way out of that darkness. When finally it got close enough ... I heard the rumble of metal on rails, saw the large puff of smoke and heard the call of that whistle asking all true Ole Miss people back to the promised land.

It was at that moment I dropped everything I was doing, grabbed my shovel, jump aboard and to start chunking coal ...

CHHOOOO CCHHHHHOOOOOOOO MOTHERF*@KERS WE ARE COMING BACK HOME!!!

Lol what?!?!? Nobody in their right mind will let an athlete like that go to waste. If Plumlee isn’t lining up at QB then Kiffin will find somewhere else for him to contribute. It’s not often you have kids on your team with Pumlee’s speed, agility and acceleration. Anybody that can run by an entire LSU defense for 4 quarters will be utilized.

I’ve been good brother

The Luke days pushed me into a deep dark cave like Sméagol... and I knew I was doomed to re-emerge from my lurk as Golem... but goddammit I see rings in the distance and I’m ready to take this bitch all the way
