RichRod hasn't signed a good class since WVU (and that is questionable) and MacIntyre flat out sucks. Who are the recruiters on this staff? We know its not Luke.

Don't care. I want Luke supporters to finally see how stupid they were for "giving him a chance"

Jacob Peeler, Derrick Nix, and Freddie Roach are pretty decent recruiters but I don’t know how much it matters without the program investment.

Recruiters are only as good as the money.

Coordinators do very little recruiting anyways. They are simply closers for big name guys.

To be honest, Ole Miss football under Matt Luke feels like watching a really bad low-budget movie. You know the movie sucks while you are watching it and no matter what, it's not going to magically get better before it ends.

What about one of those random nudey scenes that often find their way into the movie??

Check. Mate.

I have too:

2013 #44
2014 #31
2015 #43
2016 #48

So are we more like Arizona or Michigan in terms of brand? Which set of stats is closer in time to the present? RR lost his mojo and Mac never had it.

Idk.. I realize I'm in the minority on this one, and I can't stand the losses Luke had last year... but I think we will end up with some good MS recruits.
I like the marketing side of things with Matt Luke. I think its a good move to start the "Mississippi Made" recruiting pitch. Mullen did a lot of the same, and it worked to his advantage. With Mullen out of the state, I think its the perfect timing to start that pitch.
I don't think we'll compete for NC's but I think we can get a lot of in-state overlooked talent.

Good thing Mississippi made allowed us to sign the best Mississippi recruits.

Wait they signed with state.

I think Luke and staff need more than one year of separation from the sanctions to really be able to sell the Mississippi Made thing. If after another recruiting cycle or two it doesn't work... well, maybe it ain't gonna work.

That is the dumbest shite I've heard... not you but the campaign. Under this campaign, we got very little of the state's top talent.

If that is your bar for being happy with the football program, then we simply differ on everything. Unless a team competes, there is no reason to field a team. I get that we aren't going to be an Alabama level program but I think we can aspire to being at the same level as LSU, Arkansas, and Auburn. Throwing in the towel just to have local guys is not something that I can make do with.

For the state our football program is coming out of, I'll be happy with that for now, if we it works to our advantage in the near future. I want the best for our football program, but its delusional if you think we can compete for national tittles in the next 3years

I’m trying to be realistic. And we gotta do something positive recruiting wise. Let’s face it, we aren’t Alabama, Auburn, UGA, UF, or LSU. Without cheating, we need a strong recruiting pitch, a better hold on in-state talent, and great coordinators/recruiters. You can hate on Matt Luke all you guys want, but he’s our coach, and that’s reality. If we do all those things, we’ll be decent, but I think some of y’all expect too much compared to what the reality is. I have no say, other than these message boards. I’m not our AD or coach, I’m just a fan trying to see the positives and the reality of our situation.

Look, I realize we just started this campaign, and clearly it didn't work for us this year. But one thing I will give Dan Mullen credit for is his in-state marketing. #hailstate didn't work over night, but has turned into an advantage for Miss State. Idk if "Mississippi Made" will work, but its better than than nothing. And as a person who has worked on a marketing team for the NFL, and has a marketing degree from Ole Miss, I can tell you this is perfect timing for this marketing campaign, with mullen leaving the state. It could work to our advantage over the next few years. Don't count it out as much as you are. Mississippi is a great state for HS football players, and if this campaign can get a roll with some great MS recruits, I think its one of the best marketing campaigns for recruiting we got right now. If you guys got something better, please post it. Maybe Luke and staff will see it and take from it.
