I have to agree with you. There is certainly a benefit to having a solid one to punch at running back that hasn’t spent the last eight weeks getting absolutely beat up all game long.

Lacy hasn't been his usual self this season, due to injury, of course. When he came out of the Texas game, we started getting more yards on the ground. He needs to stay out until he can play at full speed.
