truly think LSU is better in all three units (when Nuss is healthy)

Yes, your offense that's 15th in the conference in rushing is 16th in the conference in scoring is better than ours.

I'll give you the defense.

We also have a great kicker (albeit occasionally sporadic) and good punter. We ain't no special teams slouches.

It is going to be a great game. But the Rebs have work to do before the Tigers come to town.

Nuss is very overrated IMO, but I’m fully prepared for him to be Tom Brady-like in Oxford in a couple weeks.

Well he didn't look good last week. Before the season, i thought this would be a bumper crop of NFL draft qb prospects but now w/ Arch and Nuss and LaNorris not looking so good i'm not sure.

Tiger QBs in Vaught Hemingway Stadium Since the Second Expansion
2013 (Zach Mettenberger) - 19/33, 274 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
2015 (Brandon Harris) - 26/51, 324 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT (60 rushing yards)
2017 (Danny Etling) - 9/13, 69.2%, 200 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT (1 rushing TD)
2019 (Joe Burrow) - 32/42, 76.2%, 489 yards, 5 TD, 2 INT
2021 (Max Johnson and Garrett Nussmeier) - 20/33, 60.6%, 249 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
2023 (Jayden Daniels) - 27/38, 71.1%, 414 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT (99 rushing yards and 1 TD to boot)

It's a mixed bag.

I was never sold on Sellers. Size and intangibles but I don’t see the accuracy or ability to read the field.

Nuss can’t play if you move him around.

Arch being crowned before starting three games was odd. I get the name but nobody had seen him play meaningful ball in years.

Allar doesn’t elevate a team

Klubnik is trash

Beck has moments both ways

Good thing we rushed three on key downs last year.

Bama saw that tape and blitzed him all night and you saw what happened.

And 4 the rest of the night. The worst game we’ve had from a coaching standpoint since Pete took over. Nuss is a rhythm quarterback. Letting him get comfortable with a clean pocket is literally the dumbest possible thing you could do. He is not that good of a qb.

I’m not trolling, just saying I wouldn’t trade any unit LSU has on offense. Why would I? If Nuss is healthy and the offense struggles I’ll be concerned but I think big steps are about to be made. Should also have 6’8” Trey’dez Green back for the OM game.

I do think lane is a better tactician than Kelly, he’d probably smash records with this offense LSU has on paper.

I don’t ever feel good about revenge games on the road so my original point still stands that ole miss will probably win

I don’t know if it’s the NIL mercenary age but it feels like the entire CFB product has declined a lot. Would be shocked if there is an undefeated team heading into the playoffs minus maybe Miami with the ACC being arse. Curious about how good Oregon is too but the SEC really looks like a handful of 10-2 teams

The transfer portal and instant eligibility are killing this game.

Honestly I think it's spread talent out to more teams - so there are a ton of above average teams v. Just 3 or 4 elite teams with 5* across the three deep. It's made for a more competitive environment week to week

Not having an undefeated team doesn’t mean the entire CFB product has declined. It just means the top talent isn’t concentrated only on one team.

That’s a fair point. It’s made me change my tune to shooting for a 10-2 regular season and firing our deputy AD for scheduling hellish OOC openers until 2030

Hope the team is not looking ahead to LSU. Tulane is a good football team and a lot of three and outs will doom us.

Tulane is a very solid team that will be bigtime motivated to knock us off. We've gotta protect the ball and play much better on defense.

We should be able to run the ball every play. Tulane is a very good team but the difference in talent at the line of scrimmage should be substantial

Tulane is a good team.

Retzlaff is their entire offense. He is a very good and physical runner between the tackles. He runs more on designed runs than scrambles. They run a ton of crossing routes to clear out LBers and then he'll take off.

They have an inexperienced backfield but a couple of hard runners.

They have two good WRs, but they're not big bodied. They capitalize on play action a lot.

Their offensive line is average.

Their defensive line is not good. Duke pushed them around the whole game. I'm surprised Duke abandoned the run to pass so much with Mensah given how effective they were running the ball (5.8 YPC). Tulane has struggled with other teams against the run too. South Alabama went for 190 on them on the ground. They do have some very good edge rushers though. Don't count out Hamilton and Westmoreland.

Their LBers are poor. They do not make many open field tackles. I do not think they really attack the ball either.

Their secondary is good. Bailey Despanie will be a pro.

Their kicker is okay. Their punter is very good. He can flip the field and also kick it close.

I think this is going to be a low scoring game and we will win by 10. They are going to be very motivated to play us as hard as they can. I would not be surprised if they pull out some trick plays. If we overlook them, we will lose.

Taylen Green has more speed than Retzlaff, but Retzlaff is a more physical runner.
