Whoever is advising Dart needs to press him to go Pro. Super weak QB class and it would be his best opportunity to stick at the next level. His last game of film is about as good as its going to get on deep ball accuracy as well.

Totally agree on this. There are a LOT of teams desperate for a quarterback and The Gator Bowl was incredible for him from a prospect perspective.

I don't see him as a Heisman QB next year with the lack of a proven supporting cast(other than Lee). There's a lot bigger chance of him hurting his draft stock(especially with injury) than improving it.

Nobody thought Michael Spurlock was going to be the guy outside of the spirit and rebel grove. In fact it’s not his fault Cutcliffe was an idiot that didn’t play him at the position he went to the NFL and had a decent career doing. He was insanely athletic with terrible accuracy. Dart returning would give us a boost absolutely but you’re overlooking his obvious flaws too.

In what world do you logically say “nah. Let’s go with the inexperienced freshman because he played good in a few games”?

Did I say that?

I do believe I said if Dart wants to stay, I’m game but throw the bank at Simmons to keep him around.

Pretty sure that’s what I said.

"Spurlock is the next Eli" is somehow worse than "Korvic Neat is the next Dexter McCluster".

The cope from some of the posters on there always made me think they were state fans trolling until I realize they were just the biggest sunshine pumpers in existence. I remember one post saying Spurlock would be our Michael Vick haha

Spurlock must have been lights out in practice like this frog or Cutcliffe was a pompous arse.

The latter for sure. His and Pete Boone’s arrogance stifled our program.

Dart is the 3rd best ole miss QB since 2015 behind swag and Corral.
Going to respectfully disagree here. I think he’s better than Swag. 2021 Corral you could make the argument though.

Ayden Williams is in the portal

Looks like he’s headed to MSU. Posters on EliteDawgs are claiming State has been tampering with him since October.

Doesn’t matter though because you’d have to be a complete retard to want to go from a 10 win team to a 10 loss dumpster fire. We don’t need retards on our team.

He got buried in the depth chart here so I don’t blame him. Probably getting decent NIL money and they likely will throw the ball more than us. It is what it is . Not a loss I will mourn or celebrate either way

To be fair…..they did have the same amount of passing yards and passing TDs in the NFL from about 2007 to 2009.

Rebel Grove:

quote:

It has been reported elsewhere that Jaxson Dart submitted a waiver for another year of eligibility. Am told this is not true and no waiver has been submitted. A waiver is on the table of options, but would moreso be a matter of covering all of his bases and his sights are pretty clearly on prepping and improving his stock for this year's NFL Draft.

What flaws? He's an accurate passer, can run like a bulldozer, isn't injury prone, and has an extremely high QB IQ. I'm really asking. What are these obvious flaws?

The team and staff believed it too. In practice, Spurlock looked like a stud and was quite amazing. He was accurate as hell and had an arm that could chunk long passes with ease. But he apparently couldn't play in front of a crowd.

The crying on the sideline is a pretty big red flag.

The other issue is him just disappearing during games and not looking through his progressions. During the Kentucky game, especially, he kept chunking it deep like he was still playing Furman instead of checking his other receivers.

You don’t have to play dumb here. Pank hit on most of the ones I’ll add holds the ball too long which is a symptom of his one read and bail tendency.
