I’ll be worried about any recruit the Freeze is after especially on offense.

Kiffin is better than Freeze at a lot of things but I don’t think recruiting is one of them

It’s hard to recruit high-schoolers when you’re a threat to jump ship every single year.

^^^ This is our only problem. And it's a really big one. Just one glance at the recruiting rankings is all you need to see. We are setting there at 31 with 12 commits while everybody else around us has 20 commits or more. I guess its our burden to bear as long as we have LK at the helm.

For sure. I mentioned it way earlier in this or another thread. If LK ended up staying, he shot his credibility with recruiting bc he doesn't show loyalty to the program.

It’s not our only problem. Can’t punt and score in the redzone

Yeah but wait… We have MS 1-5 players… hmmm… Perkins just shut his recruitment down, so maybe we are good?!

Those are issues. Haha. But our head coach not having the trust of enough high school recruits is a real problem. That said, Perkins tweeted tonight he’s OM all the way.

If that’s a problem, only Kiff can solve it. It’s not hard. Don’t hold the program hostage every season. He’s pulling in $9,000,000/year now. If he doesn’t want to be here, git. If not, git to work.

We are a chicken little fanbase. We are not going to sign 30 players a year like we used to. We will sign HS players deliberately and use the portal to get more proven talent.

Suntarine Perkins is such a massive get that is just glossed over at this point.

If Dowdell doesn’t come to us I’d certainly rather him trek way off to some place like friggin Oregon and their beautiful countryside, Nike palatial facilities and weird politics. That said, history tells us that the vast majority of Deep South players who make such a drastic move end up back closer to home sooner rather than later. Maybe he will still be good and interested in us at that point.

What? How did he hurt his credibility by staying? Also, doesn't he know have a 54M buyout if he wants to leave? By staying, he locked himself into the position and should be able to communicate that to recruits.

He didn't diffuse any of the coaching rumors till right before the Egg Bowl. If he was flirting around with the idea of leaving, players will look into that. I know others who feel the same. I'm hoping this new contract locks him in and we don't have a repeat scenario for the upcoming seasons.

He didn't really diffuse them, either.

The reason he didn't diffuse them is because he interviewed for the Auburn job and wanted it.

If he wanted it then we'd be in the final rounds of hiring Jamey Chadwell or someone like that.
