I definitely don’t blame Carter for forcing his hand especially if Sumrall would come on board. In the event Lane leaves I am a huge fan, was fine with LSU going after him. LSU also thinks dillingham would come if offered.

I don't think it's all that clear to be honest, unless KC is simply falling on a sword. Why would he set himself up for failure by saying he's having positive conversations about Lane's future? If Lane leaves, then he squarely putting himself in the crosshairs as the person that couldn't get it done.

Here’s a thing… If Lane hasn’t figured it out yet then he will figure it out after he has fans cussing him out all over town and at the game next Friday because he’s absolutely lost the fan base.

Totally agree. It’s the first time I’ve completely disagreed with Keith Carter decision.
