Supposedly, Lane is addressing the rumors with the team. It'll be interesting to hear what all got said, as I'm sure whatever is said will get out there.

Every player will read something differently into the Langlish that he speaks. You'll have players come out and say, "He's definitely staying" and others stating that "He's gone."
I have two points:
1. He feels like he has to so it's already gotten to the locker room.
2. Maybe he wants to inspire the team before their game. I hope he says the right thing.

If he says anything short of “I’m not leaving. I’m staying at Ole Miss” then at least half the team is going to shut down. If he gives the same “don’t listen to the outside noise, focus on what’s in front of you. This is a compliment to the work and success we have put in” bullshite, then this season will be over just like 2022.

I'm fine with that. We treated our athletics like a country club for too long and need to run it like a business. I don't need to know what goes on behind closed doors. I just need games to be won.

I would rather our beat media cover the games and stick to football. It's when they press him for an answer that it gets out of control. Nothing is happening until after the Egg Bowl so lets just try to win all the games.

Nah frick that. With all the openings happening this is a situation where he needs to sign or GTFO. Because if it waits until after the Egg Bowl it’s going to be slim pickings. And as long as the media is reporting on this, it will continue to get into the locker room and that’s on him as the head coach

Yep - this is the easiest way to solve it all. As long as we don't lose opening round since that would still be a week before the portal opens
