It’s his way to zag as one of the only beat writers to not say lane is staying. So Neal can get radio spots all over the place to bloviate that he thinks lane may leave but it’s still speculation in the end

I think he's checked out and is just going through the motions. I don't think he realized all of the hell he'd have to deal with at Auburn (their insane boosters). I expect he gets fired after this season, takes a year off, and ends up coaching in some lower ranks.

Yeah. Starting in year 2 at Auburn you could just see it on his face and his demeanor. The fire he had here is completely gone. The man is battling cancer so that could obviously be a huge part of it. But he is a night and day coach from his time here and even Liberty than he is now.
