Sometimes I feel Lane does this stuff to expose the NCAA and their rules/ calendar. He abused the fake injury rule so they would change it. He talks about how in the NFL players can't change teams every year. He complains about pre-portaling. Last year was about players on playoff teams taking visits, sitting out, etc. He keeps bringing up all these bad rules for years.
What if he strings along 3 teams and causes all this commotion and attention to show how bad the NCAA crappy rules are and gets them fixed?
He causes so much uproar from blue chip fan bases the NCAA has to make changes and the changes get made. He ends up the hero who saved college football.

Well if he does end up staying and did for all the ncaa calendar issues etc. He will set back both FL and LSU for a good 2 seasons if not more.. Cause they was dead set on hiring him over looking for another coach in the time they just focused on him. But that is a them issues not all ncaa.. Ncaa did not tell only focus on coach to hire.

He's doing this to the point where coaches and players are both pissed at him, the fans are pissed at him, and his reputation that he has been trying to rebuild for the past 5 years has taken a severe hit nationally. Our own recruiting has come to a near standstill. He called coaches in from recruiting visits to have a last minute, unscheduled practice last Friday morning. There's no such thing as 4D chess and this isn't some big ploy to string along 3 schools. I'm sorry, but you need to come to terms with that.

As I say on Xwitter; this is not a calender issue, it's a character issue. Him flying his family around to potential suitors in a very public manner should tell you that. I would have no issue with him job shopping in secret but he intentionally made this a very public affair. And he never had to shite on the fans this year. We literally set season attendance records and he is complaining about a 95% full stadium against a really bad FCS opponent from a week prior after a HUGE win? He seems completely oblivious to the state of college football. We all watched Saturday as LSU, UGA, and Alabama had half empty stadiums. (Well LSU probably only had 30k in reality)

I'm not disagreeing, as I'm about as sick of LK doing this to us as I can be. Talk about ungrateful! Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
However ... as Randy Travis said .. on the other hand ...
I'm old enough to remember the fanfare when OM hired Steve Sloan. It was treated as the Second Coming. He was a lock to return OM to glory! He had taken Texas Tech and Vandy to bowl games! Multiple times!
Then 5 long, abysmal, miserable, soul-sucking years later, I remember him crying at his goodbye press conference when he resigned to take the job at Duke. Nice guy (I spoke with SS once), but a horrible failure at OM.
I'm almost in the camp of wanting LK gone ... but be careful what you wish for.

All of that!
He and Sexton damn well knew those visits would be out there in public, and they did it anyway. Then, after setting an attendance record for the Florida game, he bitches in the post game because it wasn't over capacity for a 11:00am game against the Citadel. It's like he set his mind to lose the entire fanbase as quickly as possible.

I hear you. I do. I know it and I've lived it but I have also fully accepted that LK is gone. It's DEFINITELY not some 4D chess move. If anything, it's just him being an indecisive child.
As for Sloan, whoa buddy, that was a mess but Ole Miss has to take a lot of blame for that as well. Matter of fact, I place the majority of our woes in the 70s and 80s directly at the feet of two penny pinching morons: Porter Lee Fortune and R Gerald Turner.

Is the LK press conference today live anywhere? Curious to see what questions to media ask him

"frick him [Lane]."
Exactly what we should keep doing for at least a few more years.

Will it be on the SEC Network? They've got Billy Gonzales doing a presser on there right now.

I said from the very beginning, back in early October, that all I wanted was for him not to make this a huge distraction because I wanted to really see how far this team could go.

And the other question for the folks saying this is a 4-D chess move: why are we obligated to entertain this?

Lane is usually a few minutes late but I don't think he's ever been this late.
