Someone needs to put Kiffin's face on a penis and hang those all over Oxford.

Special season doesn’t feel as special now TBH. But this kind of bullshite is what you sign up for with a guy like Lane.

Sometimes standing on business means taking a principled stand (even when you are irate and cringing on the inside) but shaking the other party’s hand and saying there are greater interests at play.

The athletic department caved 100% for a reason that isn’t clear. What’s the endgame? KC will need knee pads before this is over.

This is hopium talking probably but I’ve been sitting here trying to make logical sense of why Carter would put that statement out. We all agree that no statement was needed and it wasn’t even promised. Keith Carter is the best AD we have ever had and this is the first time he has ever made a decision that makes zero logical sense. He isn’t stupid. Dude is very smart.

Something fishy is going on with this because why would you put out an announcement that Lane is going to leave the day after you finish 11-1 and are locked into a playoff spot? The other thing is nothing has leaked out about how the locker room is taking this positive or negative. It’s been eerily quiet. On top of that Rebelgator you are saying your source is all crickets.

Kiffin very well may be gone (I’m like 90/10 on that at this point) but this all seems somewhat coordinated and everyone inside the program is very tight lipped. The conspiracy I’m coming up with is he signed, told a few team leaders along with Carter that he signed so they can let the other players know he’s in, and our bigger boosters were also told so they don’t get pissed off and pull NIL commitments

Just my crazy conspiracy theory that is almost certainly wrong

Ok, but why? What's the end goal with that?

This is still being negotiated. A lot will happen between now and the egg bowl. I’m not sold that kiffin is gone.

Then why release that statement? Not saying your wrong or anything, it just doesn't add up in my head

String LSU and Florida along even more to put them behind the 8 ball on finding a replacement like Dillingham. Give ASU and other schools an other week to get them extended.

Also winning the Egg Bowl, then waking up Saturday expecting to hear Lane is gone only to hear he is staying and the whole nation finds out on College Gameday. That galvanizes the fanbase and players even more for a home playoff game .

Like I said, hopium

Lesson Lane needs to learn: You can’t have your cake and eat it, too.

KC will actually have this leverage after we beat State.

And I thought “he’s going to sign on the Jumbotron” was desperation lol.

I agree, but we weren’t in the meeting. It’s hard to say. I can think of a few reason. Perhaps it’s to show good faith during the negotiation.

I've been trying to think - what's the most WAOM possible outcome here. I think it's we lose to State and keep Lane

The problem is like I said earlier….Lane is about to completely lose the fan base. Him and his kids(which will be a bigger problem) will catch all of the hell from pissed off fans and then he isn’t going to want to stay here anyways.

You can demonstrate good faith in negotiations without having to sit in a cuck chair.

The only reason I can think we made that statement falls along the lines of showing our next hire that we will always behave rationally / professionally even when Lane is being an a-hole.

If this is how we act at "our" worse it's a damn good job. So chose our opening over Auburn, etc...
