That includes players like Gonzales and Alderman. No point in watching players play for nothing when we could be letting players who will be here next year get experience.

Naw. I like watching Gonzales and Alderman swing it.

Yeah, you can't sit Gonzalez and Alderman. There are several you can, but not those two.

It also helps the new people get better when they're playing with elite teammates.

Accidentally clicked on the basketball thread by looking at the conference record. To put things in perspective our terrible basketball team was 4-16 in the SEC while our elite baseball team is 3-15. Something is wrong with that.

It's okay to suck profusely cuz we lucked into a championship last season despite sucking then too.

Outside of women’s hoops and rifle seems like, we are on quite the skid athletically.

It’s an off year. Football had a shitty finish which hurts but basketball hired Beard and baseball has a ton of young arms I feel like will develop. shite happens. We will bounce back. I don’t feel like we are a rudderless ship right now.

No, I don’t think we are rudderless either. Oddly enough though, baseball could very well be the weakest of the bunch next year. Wouldn’t necessarily break my heart. If forced to chose I’d rather us be something special in football and basketball before baseball.

Considering the football schedule, I think football might be the weakest

Sounds like Elliott might be done for the year, not going to pitch this weekend. Probably for the best, go ahead and let him get surgery and hopefully get him back for at least part of next year.

Go on and shut him down for the season and summer honestly

No reason to keep trying to make him go and pitch with nothing to gain but hurting him further

Wasn’t a fan of him going against LSU anyway.

I’m assuming he’s going to be shut down for a lot longer than through the summer. You don’t have a lingering UCL issue like this and escape Tommy John.

Maddox had Tommy John last May and we’re just now getting him back.

It would be some shite if we just swept the next 3 weeks and got in at the very last second again

Jackson Kimbrell is expected to be a key reliever as well in 2023, after limited action in 2022. After that, though, there are many questions about the Rebs' staff, although experienced and talented arms return (Mallitz, Gaddis, Washburn, Dougherty, Maddox, etc.).

Re-reading the preseason hype/predictions for this thread is kinda hilarious. 2 of these guys aren’t even on the team. 2 haven’t thrown a pitch. 1 sucks. And 1 is somehow our Friday night Ace.

Apparently he transferred to Texas Tech, but I can't find any stats for him this year. Maybe he's sitting the year out.
