Kellum said on the radio today that Blackman is a draft eligible sophomore... Replacing 3/4 infielders and our catcher next season would be pretty tough.

Ive seen mock drafts will Oxford high Dillard going at 86
That's 3 rd round.

He is a stud Catcher and will be a legend and potentially a replacement for Lartigue and another first team all SEC catcher Bianco knows how to coach those guys.

But 86 is tempting I see him as first round talent down the road but 3 rd round would probably be tempting.

Unless Blackman gets on a hot streak I doubt his value is high enough to get him drafted high enough to leave college. I bet he comes back and tries to have a stellar season next year.

I've heard from several people here with one other kids on the team that they think he goes to college. Who knows?

I've talked to a guy that coaches him. He has a dollar value in mind that would get him to leave that isn't all that high . So I'm not that optimistic he will make it to ole miss

He also says he is a really good kid

Personally, I would take the money, or tell my kid to, and then come back and get your degree later. The franchise will pay for it. I still think he ends up in college. Time will tell

Robinson
Woodman
Lartigue
Smith
Bramlett
Short

This is what chase said on the board the other day about who he expects us to lose. Also said to watch Bortles and Blackman.

From the signing class, he said Cooper Johnson is gone. Grae, Rolison, Etheridge, and Dillard are the main ones he's talked about possibly losing. He's mentioned some teams don't know what position Dillard can play.

Yeah that's the tough thing about recruiting in college baseball, but I agree with you.

If it were my kid and he had a chance to go in the top 5 rounds, definitely top 3, I think I would advise him to go unless he just absolutely wanted to go to school for the experience.

I don't see him getting drafted high. He has another year of eligibility. I'd be surprised if he is gone.

With his size is he really going to get enough guaranteed to not play his sr year?

The thing with baseball is that juniors are a risk to go if they just have the potential. You don't have to necessarily put it all together on the field.

Seniors have absolutely no leverage in negotiations after getting drafted and most end up getting waxed in salary and round picked because of it.

Insanity doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.- Einstein

*Not saying you are insane

But hoping he will do anything when we need him or to not strike out.. Is insanity.

Is Watson really good at anything? He isn't ovrely fast, can't bat and is marginal in the field. I know he is a SO, but he really plays too much for his skill level. There has to be someone else.

He is a SS by trade. Will be interesting to see who wins out there between Watson and Olenek next spring. (I assume the first weekend when Errol didn't play, Olenek did because Watson had been taking reps at OF and not much at SS.)

How many more games do we need to win to legitimately deserve a national seed?

We probably need to win the tournament honestly. If we can get our record against top 25 teams at or above .500, I think that will get us one.
