Initially I agreed. But now it looks like Zimmerman may have eaten TM.
How much weight has that dude gained?

At that level? Sure. At the supreme court level? Not really as the last few years have shown they are completely willing to go against the constitution which violates their ONE frickING JOB.

Legally, they don't matter because Trayvon isn't on trial. It's like a guy on trial for rape trying to turn it around on the victim. What matters is what happened that night.
I'm doubt they have enough for a 2nd degree murder conviction, but GZ's actions precipitated the event that led to the kid's death. I'd call that manslaughter. But that's just me.

They apparently don't care about much of anything. The defense is SHREDDING them with minimal effort.

You may be right, BUT in a self-defense case manslaughter implies that on some small level Trayvon was at fault as well. If he was completely innocent, this IS murder.

I thought manslaughter before the trial. The more I watch of this trial makes me feel less about wanting to convict this guy of manslaughter.
You will have to convince me that Zimmerman wasn't jumped by Trayvon for that to happen.

What's going to be hard to prove is premeditation. Which I believe is key factor in murder charge. But is premeditation start nano second before or when does it start.

I'm not an attorney, but I think they have to look at the degrees of fault. You've got a scared kid with a can of tea and a bag of skittles who knows someone is following him on one side. And an overly zealous neighborhood watch guy iwth a gun who was following him on the other. I'd lean toward it being manslaughter, but that's my opinion.
I agree with your previous post though - the defense is doing a much better job. Based on what we've seen with the Casey Anthony trial, and now this one, I'm less than impressed with prosecutors in Florida.

Premeditation is the difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder, isn't it?
Posted on 6/27/13 at 8:59 pm to sms151t
Premeditation is only required in first-degree murder. Second degree murder requires no premeditation.

Casey Anthony was different IMO. There was a lot of evidence against her and the prosecution just botched it. There just isn't really a murder case to be made against Zimmerman.

Now you have a kid with skittles and a can of tea calling the guy a "creepy arse cracka" and you have Zimmerman who had made 17 previous calls to report suspicious activity without a single incident of violence. The calls that were played in court show a calm Zimmerman just reporting what he saw.

Who isn't scared enough to call police, but instead describes the individual in a racist way to a friend. His actions presented by the prosecuting attorneys haven't been shown him to be a scared kid.

You should read the prosecutor's opening statement. Zimmerman's language wasn't exactly pristine.

In fairness to Zimmerman, he was asked repeatedly what race Trayvon was. Most of the time he was answering direct questions.
