This reads like something scary that probably isn't a big deal. If DHS was amping up for something against Americans, I'm willing to bet the information wouldn't be readily available on the internet.

Anytime one of the Federal alphabet agencies begins buying ammo and armor I get nervous and anyone that doesn't look closely and ask questions is a fool never take anything that federal law enforcement does at face value

Hollow points aren't for training.

And I'm willing to bet you are one of the koolaid drinkers ... amirite? Because only a koolaid drinker could read this and try to defend it as anything other than what it is - scary stuff. Seriously worrisome stuff.

he has a point, why would the fed gov be making this so easy to find? Im not saying they aren't ramping up for something but im not sure why they put it out for all to see.

also they could just continue their slow chipping away of rights and it wouldn't be nearly as bloody.

I read that more than half the ammo is for Immigration and Customs. The rest is for "training exercises." But the tanks are just creepy.
DHS oversees ICE, Border Patrol, etc. Would make sense for them to patrol the Mexican border in those things.

Our local po-po has one of these, stripped down and painted blue, for when the coo-coos barricade themselves in the house and start shooting at everyone.

You should see some of the crazy arse stuff SWAT teams have.

This is kinda like the equivalent of me buying a hummer.

They are too expensive and heavy for border patrol. You would use a more mobile vehicle. These are for assaults or raids.

Saying "I'm not sure the sky is falling" is not a defense, but a suggestion to pump the breaks on the 1984 talk. It looks scary, but it doesn't mean it is scary. I'm just saying to take a step back, and to do research as to why they are doing this. Like I said, I doubt they are telling us what equipment they are going to use in the police state. Why give us time to prepare or even let us know about it?

What do you mean by "koolaid drinkers"? Obama supporters is my guess. If so, you don't know my disdain for every person in Washington.

Bingo. If I was looking to takeover, I would be playing the long game...chipping away bit by bit.

Also, @ your disdain for GED earners.

Not just to me but many law abiding people have this happen to them.

ETA: just because I like to ride a motorcycle and know some other folks that like to ride too is no reason for this kind of treatment from any leo

would just like to point out in this thread that there are 313 million americans. if these tanks are going to be used for tyrannical rule, that means that each tank is going to be charged with controlling 116,000 people.

i'm not betting on the tanks.

Without a doubt. I'm sorry that happened to you, and certainly understand your perspective on the matter.
