Before anyone brings it up, this is not a thread to discuss the extracurricular activities of either of these musicians, take that shite somewhere else.

Arguably the world's greatest guitarist vs the world's greatest/most innovative dancer? Man, that's damn near impossible to answer.

I'd go with Prince, though. I love Prince. Michael Jackson I could take or leave.

Not really, just watched Purple Rain last night with the gf. I told her that I'd consider dating her exclusively but first she had to cleanse herself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka

Michael Jackson

Could sing and dance better than anyone since Fred Astaire. Created moves still unrivaled today.

Prince was a great musician. His singing was pretty meh.

That's funny on multiple levels.

VS, if you want to email me a picture I can draw her in MS Paint like I did for BJ. Will obviously keep pic confidential.

Song writing is a talent that is often overlooked as well.

Nice troll, but I'll bite.

Michael Jackson didn't play guitar (at least on stage) and I know you're not talking about Prince. Don't even post that solo from the George Harrison tribute because it's not that great, especially technically speaking (it was just a rehash of George Harrison's own solo to the song-a song which Prince admitted he had never heard until being asked to play for that special).

And Eric Clapton never said Prince was the world's greatest guitarist-that's internet myth (EC did compliment him in a FB post after his death-particularly Purple Rain the movie-but said nothing about his ability to play the guitar-which would have been the perfect and appropriate opportunity to do so). I can give you a list of 100 greater guitarists off the top of my head.

To the OP-they were both great performers, but Prince was the better musician and the more talented between the two when you take into account their entire catalogs of work.

Michael Jackson was pretty much two dimensional: singing and dancing (and was probably given co-wiriting credit on some songs).

Prince was multi-dimensional: writing (songs and movies), playing, singing, acting... you name it, Prince could do it all.
