I've been wondering if there is an SEC school which has drank more collective over the past few years than the average of the other SEC schools. I've thought of possible reason why each program may have had reasons to drink.

West

Mississippi State: What else is there to do in Starkville?

Ole MIss: They never lose the party and never live up to the hype. They have youtube girl. They also have to show all of those 5 star recruits a good time.

Texas A&M: They have to drink to have an excuse to have butt sex at fish camp and yell practice. They're finally free of UT. Johnny Manziel does his fare share.

Alabama: A lot of reasons to celebrate. Two heartbreaking losses to Auburn. Quelling uneasiness about Saban leaving.

Auburn: Emotional roller coaster. Thinking they are going to get hammered for Cam. Beating Bama in 2010. Winning a championship. Doing completely awful for two years following the championship. Beating Alabama again. Making it to the championship. Losing the championship.

LSU: Drinks to deal with having to see Saban dominate at Bama. They also have to deal with the repeat and the decline. Their coach is also challenged and does unexplainable things.

Arkansas: Petrino and his motorcycle incident. Hiring Bielma. Awful play the past couple of years.

East

Vanderbilt: They beat Tennessee. They lose Franklin. Their students have the most steam to let off because they actually go to a real school and have to study and all of that stuff.

Georgia: Same story of almost year after year. Richt stays on. The catch.

Florida: Losing meyer, losing the 2009 SEC championship, Tebo crying, coach boom.

South Carolina: Stephen Garcia and Steve Spurrier

Tennessee: Kiffin, Dooley, just horrible for years. Rival is killing them. Drinking reaches butt chugging climax.

Missouri: They have to drink because of their Yankee/southerner identity crisis. They also lost the only chance they will probably ever have at football relevance.

Kentucky: they drink during the fall to pass the time.

I think Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn tie for first. Lsu a close second. Kentucky last.

FTO but the answer is the two biggest schools in the conference I would imagine.

We're the bourbon capital of the country. We drink because we can.

We never thought we were going to get hammered. The rest of ya'll just wished really really hard that we would and drug it out and milked it for all it was worth.

But yeah, I've definitely drank a ton on account of Auburn football the last few years.

Agree with Beaver but any answer that's not LSU is wrong. Although it has nothing to do with the OP's reasoning.

Mississippi State- not used to a whole lot of success in football but played for the national championship in baseball. Things have never apperared to be as bright as they will in Starkville in 2014 so no pity drinking here. My guess would be Bamer. 0-2 in their last two games, no natty, will have to listen to Big Game Bob talk about whopping Saban in woodshed manner.

Ole Miss and it isn't even close if you're going by alcohol consumed per student.

Not sure where MSU stands, but we do have the cheapest drinks by far in the SEC in starkville. Our bars have great drink deals

LSU students seem to drink a lot too.

Exactly. We've been the hardest drinking SEC school for a hundred years or more.

That is true. I don't remember where it was (for obvious reasons) but there was a $10 all-you-can-drink last baseball season. I really appreciated that as it was my first time in Starkville.

Easily LSU. Louisiana has the highest number of alcoholics per capita in the nation.
