I like to fish, hunt, boat.
want to live in the South.
also a Christian, conservative community.
has to be a relatively big city or near one so that I can find a Real Estate job.
don't want a bunch of yankee transplants.
thanks.

Depends on what you do for a living

Savannah Georgia or Charleston, SC.

Gulf Shores/Orange Beach
Plenty of hunting, fishing, boating, and real estate to go around.
Pensacola or Mobile if you want more of a population.

Knoxville or Chattanooga would both fit what you're looking for.
Best outdoor areas in the SEC footprint with Mountains/Rivers/Lakes every where. Diverse wild life (Bear, wild pig, bob cat, coyote, Turkey, Deer, Elk, etc.) Good fishing and hunting. Both metros with over 500k people (Knoxville: Around 875k and Chattanooga at 550k+) and good job opportunities. Both cities with good mayors and local officials helping drive the cities towards the top in the region. Both cities with active downtowns and are young people friendly. They are conservative (Knoxville probably more so) and with relatively low amounts of Northern transplants.

Huntsville, Al. A good real estate market, great schools and small enough city. Good fishing and some of the best hunting in Alabama. Close enough to Bham, Nashville and ATL for entertainment.
Chattanooga, Tn. ( see Huntsville, Al). + Hiking, kayaking, and closer to Smokies.
Fairhope, Al. Beautiful little small town on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. Close to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for saltwater fishing and beautiful beaches plus fresh water activities ( fishing, kayaking, duck hunting, etc) in the Mobile delta. Close to Mobile and New Orleans for entertainment but a small town with excellent quality of life. Hurricanes CAN be a problem every 10 years or so. Real estate market not as good as Huntsville or Chattanooga.
Thomasville, Ga. Nice little small town in south Ga. Real estate market probably flat unless you work in Valdosta ( or sell recreational land) and/in surrounding areas. Great family and gentlemen's town. Great quail hunting and only a couple hours to the most peaceful and undeveloped beaches in the US. Close to many underground springs for swimming and rivers to fish and kayak in the panhandle/ bend region. It will only get better as more ATL money pours in.
Others to mention are Greenville,Sc. (growing rapidly with great real estate market), Georgetown, Sc,(because it just feels right). Florence, Al ( see Georgetown, Sc). Many small towns south of Nashville, TN. north of Alabama line, west of Chat but east of Jackson, Tn. (Whole region seems relatively nice especially on the lakes) and don't forget to look at the north shore area of New Orleans,( Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville area is nice and it seems to be spreading and influencing all the way to Pass Christian, Bay St Louis/ Ocean springs. Good real estate opportunity with fine inshore fishing, kayaking, etc., and always be close to New Orleans for entertainment.
Auburn, Al is nice and very family friendly as well but I won't highlight it because I have too much Bama in me.
All places I mentioned seem to have a Christian, safe, family, kid friendly environment more than other places in the south that I've traveled. I just felt comfortable in these places. This is just one mans opinion but it's 17 years of experience traveling the southeast. I will say I didn't get to spend enough time in NC, KY to give an honest opinion. Mainly traveled Al, TN, SC, MS, LA, Ga and Fl. Florida just felt a little creepy for the most part but I'm sure there are many nice places but Christian friendly AND nice I haven't found.
I've been told NW Ark is a very nice place to live as well by many people whose opinion I trust.

You are so welcome
You could be living in a trailer park there safe in the knowledge that if history had been slightly different it would be the state capitol today.

thomasville sounds great but kind of high crime rate.
i like Bama but not sure I would live there as they dont extend the Castle Doctorine law to your car

I'm thinking Jackson, MS or Northshore to SW MS would be my best bet, or somewhere in GA. nobody has suggested Bossier city area but it seems decent

nobody actually lives in Jackson.
I would live in Madison and work in Flowood or another one of those cities, never actually stepping foot in Jackson.
it's easier to just say Jackson though.
