What’s the most important “first” in a relationship?

Is it the first kiss? The first time that one of you says “I love you”? The first time that you make love? The first time that you meet your SO’s family? The first time that you go on vacation together? The first time that you make a major financial decision together? Something else?
I asked this question on the Tigerdroppings OT before, and now I want the SEC OT’s opinion.

Yep. It was the deal breaker with 2 girls I really liked. My dad didn't get along with my mom's dad at all, and it made visits and holidays so stressful I didn't want to continue that. One girl was her dad I couldn't stand, the other was both her mom and dad.

I got super lucky in this department. My in-laws are great (I'm actually at their house with the fam this week), but my wife and I had the advantage of our parents knowing each ither and us before we started dating. Made things very easy.

My boys are only 14 and 12 so I have some time, but damned if some of the parents of their female classmates aren't weird. You did get lucky- I can't imagine having some of these folks as my grandkids' other grandparents...
